Hadley's POV
Luke threw me to the ground and held onto his injured armed. "My friends, family, and I will leave in peace," I demanded, "or else."We all started to walk away. Luke and Gerdad stayed out. I don't think they'll be coming to find me anytime soon. "You won't get away with this," Gerdad yelled, "You can't just stab one of my boys."
"Whatever," Lizzy hollered back.
"How did you survive the snaketooth poison?" Florence asked me when we were away from everyone else, "How did you know that you would survive?"
"One thing I do know is that I've been bite before by a snaketooth and survived," I informed.
"How?" he asked.
"I don't know," I answered looking down, "I just survived it."
Tears started to go down my face as I remember the week of pain I went through. I could tell Florence was concerned when the tears started to stream down my face. The pain was even worse this time around. It spread through my body like a Lovus Bush needles hitting all my body at once. "Hadley, are you doing okay?" he asked.
"Yeah just remembering," I whispered, "just remembering all the pain."
"I didn't want you to get hurt."
"It isn't your fault that I got hurt. It was the first time I got bite. That's the pain I am remembering."
"Hadley, your special, unique, and different from anyone I've ever met..."
"How your feeling, Hads," Owen interrupted before Florence could finish.
"Good," I mumbled as Owen left.
"You lied to him, didn't you," Florence asked.
"Yes, I did," I answered, "I am feeling horrible. I am feeling pain. I feel sick. I am tired of moving across this stupid planet. I am tired of seeing the world."
"Well if it helps you feel any better I've never left the camp until the day I met you," Florence answered, "and now look at me. I am a reject traveling across the planet with a amazing girl."
He said that looking at me. It made me feel even better than I was. I wondered if he was being honest or was just trying to make me feel better. I smiled at him and he smiled back at me. I think he was telling me the truth.
Florence's POV
I don't know why I said that to her. I know it was the truth, I hope she knew that. I just wanted to tell her I liked her. When she smiled at me it gave me reassurance that she knew I was telling the truth. I was about to tell her the truth when Owen came up to us and asked her a question. "Hadley, I need to tell you something," I whispered into her ear."What's that?" she whispered back.
"Guys we need to get in the trees," Forest yelled back to us, "There's a flammer up a head."
Hadley slid off her sandals and grabbed the nearest tree branch. She started climbing up the tree branch after branch. She looked like a fluming. I could hear the flammer's growl coming closer. "Hadley, slow down," Owen whispered, "I think your high enough up."
I was close enough to Hadley to hear her say, "I want to go higher though."
"Then let's go higher," I whispered to her, "We can do it."
"Let's go," she whispered to me, "let's go higher."
She climbed up faster than I could keep up with her. She was up at the top in no time. I got up to her a few minutes after her. "It's beautiful," she whispered.
