Hadley's POV
I slept the rest the night without a night terror. Normally I have a few more night terrors once I get one I get multiply more about the same thing. When I woke up and looked around me. That’s when I remember the night terror and got the chills. I can’t let that one come true. If it comes true everything I’ve ever done will be for nothing. “Hadley,” Owen yelled.

I didn’t realize that I got up and started to walk. I must have been walking fast. “I’m coming,” I yelled as I started to run back.

“Girl, stop where you are at and don’t move,” a female voice said above me, “If you move you’ll die.”

I stopped in place because I didn’t know what she was doing and I didn’t really want to die. “What do you want?” I asked.

“Not for you to get killed by a tulip,” she responded, “grab the rope I drop down to you.”

A rope dropped in front of my face and I grabbed onto the rope. She pulled me up to the trees. When I got up there I saw she had fire-like red hair and fierce amber eyes. She had pale skin that made her hair look even redder that it really was. She looked to be about sixteen. “What’s your name?” she demanded holding a knife up to my throat.

“H-Hadley,” I stuttered, “I need to get back to my brother and sister or they’ll coming looking for me.”

“Why would they do that?” she asked, “It’s just one less mouth to feed.”

“You can come with me,” I whispered, “Or you’ll let me leave in peace.”

“I will not do either of those,” she grumbled, “and you are coming with me.”

I started to whistle and tapping my foot on the tree. I started to think of the night terror. I never thought of how they got captured and killed. I wondered if it happens right now, but I hope not.

Lizzy's POV
Hadley was missing by the time we all woke up. Owen started to freak out. He knew her night terror was bad last night. He started pacing around the camp. “Owen, please stop,” I asked, “she’s gonna be fine.”

“I don’t think she is going to be fine, Lizzy,” Owen yelled, “She said she was coming five minutes ago.”

“Five minutes,” I replied, “she could be in the trees getting food. She has to climb down out of the trees.”

That’s when I heard the whistling started. “What’s that?” I asked.

“Hadley’s whistling a signal,” Owen panicked, “It’s how she tells me that she’s in danger.”

I knew Owen liked using whistling as a signal but I never thought he would use it to signal that you’re in danger. “We need to get to her,” I yelled, “I can’t let her get hurt.”

“We can’t,” Florence added walking up.

I knew Florence liked Hadley but not enough to risk his life for her. I knew Owen and I would but I didn’t think Florence would. Considering that he’s only known her for a few weeks. “You’ll be willing to risk your  life to protect her?” Owen asked.

“Yes,” Florence answered quickly.

“Why?” I asked.

“I love her,” he whispered.

“I’ll join,” Forest added.

I can’t believe that Florence said he loved her. I mean they’ve barely just met. I guess I don’t know what they were talking about on the days they’ve walked away from us and the nights they stay up talking to each other. No one knows what they are talking to each other about. It could be anything. They could be doing anything.
