Florence's POV
It's been three weeks since the star talked with Hadley. Her and I are still a little distant, but I think it is because she is scared of me getting hurt. She hasn't really talked to anyone lately. It's like she thinks that she'll hurt them. "We should make camp here for the night," Forest yelled, "or we'll be travelin' for the rest of the night."Hadley was humming a song that sounded a bit familiar while she was trying to find some rocks. I don't know why she is collecting rocks but she is. A branch cracked behind us. We all turned around to see Luke walking covered in blood. "Luke?" Hadley cautioned.
"Why are you covered in blood?" Lizzy asked.
"Gerdad killed me and somehow I came back to life," Luke whispered.
"The planet healed you," I awed.
"Why would the planet do that?" he asked.
"The planet didn't," Hadley exclaimed, "the star did."
Forest and Owen walked into camp and saw Luke standing there. Flana came running in behind them and started growling. "Luke, what are you doing here?" Owen huffed.
"Gerdad killed me and the star somehow healed me," Luke replied.
Forest started running towards Luke. He pulled out a blade. Before he could get Luke, Lizzy grabbed him and held him close. "You don't have to do it," Lizzy whispered, "Don't do it."
Hadley's POV
After Lizzy said that the light surrounded me and I started floating again. The pouch around my neck started to float also and the star jumped out. "Hadley, it has been a while," the star started, "I know you have a lot of questions, but I don't have enough energy to answer many because I also have somethings to explain to you.""Okay I only need to ask one question," I answered, "Why did you heal Luke?"
"Luke isn't who you think he is," the star explained, "once he found out what Gerdad did to people he tried to get away. While he tried to get away Gerdad almost killed him. Now you know why so I have to explain other stuff for you. Hadley, you do know that you are suppose to save the planet. Well to do that you will have to do things you never thought you would be able to do. You will have to trust people you never thought you would trust. You will find the truth about things that you didn't want to know. You will have to kill....."
The star stopped before it could finish so I never found out who I'll have to kill. Whoever I suppose to kill I won't even if it means I won't find the jewel. I can't do it. The light disappeared and I feel to the ground. I caught myself this time with my hands. Everytime the star does that it takes some of my energy. I always fall. Florence came to me and helped me up. "What was that?" Luke asked.
"The star," I whispered, "it puts me in light and talks to me."
"Why?" he asked, "Why separate you from everyone else and why bring me back to life?"
"I don't know why separate me," I yelled, "and you were brought back because somehow you were trying to get away from Gerdad. Plus it felt responsible for your death."
"Hads, you need to rest," Owen insisted, "The star takes energy from you every time you go to talk to it."
"I'm fine," I whispered passing out.
Lizzy's POV
When Hadley disappeared into the light Luke's face was full of surprise. Like he's never seen a ball of light. When Hadley came out of the light Luke started asking her a whole bunch of questions. She must have been super stressed out because she passed out. Luckily Florence caught her. Florence laid her down on the ground and walked over to us. "How do we know we can trust him," I whispered.
