Smiling from ear to ear like never been before, I walk through the pathway going to the SHS Department. Kahit napuyat ako kagabi kakaisip kay Isaiah, I still feel refreshed, parang walang epekto yung puyat at all. I'm walking with head held high, like a confident one who just got the Miss Universe crown.

“President...” pagbati sa akin ng mga junior high na nakasalubong ko. I was kinda role model of this young kids kaya naman kilala na nila ako by name and by face.

“Hi,” bati ko pabalik sa mga ito. From not too far, I saw ma'am Antonia. She's having a hard time holding her two shoulder bag and  laptop at the same time. Tumakbo ako papalapit sa kanya. “Good morning ma'am,” bati ko dito. “Ako na po jan,” tapos ay kinuha ko sa kamay nya ang laptop nyang may kabigatan.

“Oh, thank you.” she said pleased. “What's with the bright smile? Did your crush reply on you?” she guessed though I never talk to her anything that's way too personal. Figure of speech, I see. Talaga ngang english major sya.

“Better than that, ma'am.” I smiled. “Sa faculty po ba ito?”

“Yeah, pakidaan na lang. Thank you,”

“Sige ho.” then we separated ways. After putting her laptop on the top of her desk sa loob ng faculty office ay lumabas na ako. I went straight to the stairs papuntang room. Nasa second floor and faculty kaya no need to ride elevator since sa third floor naman ang destination ko. There are ten floors sa building naming Senior High kaya hindi pwedeng mawalan ng elevator.

“There she is! Amor!” nakabuka ang palad ni Pia habang tumatakbo papalapit sa akin. As if she's asking for something.

“Ano yon?” tanong ko dito.

“General Math! Pakopya 'ko habang vacant pa,”

“Ah! Sure, wait lang.” pinihit ko ang backbag ko't kinuha ang notes ng Gen. Math. “There you go,”

“Wow...” Maureen and Pia mumbled habang nakatingin sakin ng may pagtataka.

“What else?”

“Are you really letting us copy your assignment smiling?” Maureen asked surprised.

“Oo?” I said confused sa recaction ng dalawa. “Bakit ba?”

“I got this, Mau.” pangunguna ni Pia. “The Amor we know, hrmn, 'mag-aral kasi kayo kahit minsan para hindi kayo koya ng kopya!' Hindi yung nagbibigay ng notes habang nakangiti.” said Pia.

“Are you gonna copy it or I'll take it back?” mabilis na nagretreat ang dalawa.

Just before ma'am Olivar entered the room, tapos na ang dalawa sa pagkopya.

“Good morning,”

“Good morning, ma'am.” tumayo ang lahat para bumati. Ma'am Olivar is a 50 years old woman, napakaiksi ng pasensya nya. Strict din sya when it comes to her time, pero madalas naman kaming magkasundo dahil naiintindihan ko ang lesson, unlike the rest of the class.

“Sit down. Get your assignments. Amor on the board, solve and explain the numbers one to five. Class makinig, one single noise at maylilipad na libro.” ma'am Olivar threatens. Tumayo ako ng chair, I went to the front and grab a chalk.

“Operation of functions, number one, sum of (f+g)(x),” binabanggit ko ang equation habang isinusulat ito sa board. “To solve this function, we has to use the formula f(x)+g(x) (read as “f of x plus g of x”). If f(x) is equivalent to x²+5x+4 and g(f) is equals to x²+2x-8, therefore we have 2x²+7x-4,” I expalined.

Written on the board was:
1.) (f+g)(x) = f(x)+g(x)
f(x)= x²+5x+4
g(x)= x²+2x-8
answer = 2x²+7x-4

“Number two...” then I solved the next problem without breaking a sweat.

After General Mathematics, we had our subject on Filipino sa Piling Larang, we had a reporting and just like the usual, I take down notes habang ang iba'y pinicturan lang ang presentation ng mga kaklase namin. After a short discussion about sports, she gave us a few terminologies that we must define in our own words. I finished the seatwork in just couple of minutes kaya naman wala akong ibang magawa kundi tumunganga.

Suddenly, ma'am Bernardo called my name, “Amor”

“Yes, ma'am?” alerto kong sagot dito.

“Are you finished?”

“Opo,”

“Good. I want you to take this to coach Patrick. Hintayin mo na mapirmahan nya saka ka bumalik,”

Sure, ma'am! Excited na respond ng utak ko. Gusto ko na namang tumalon sa saya dahil makakapunta ako sa gym. Coach Patrick is the Coach of SHS Basketball Team. Who knows?

“Two more lap! Faster!” sigaw ni coach Pat. Mabagal akong lumapit sa kanya, and as the group get nearer, nakita ko siya!

Then I realized I wasn't here to watch him today. May inuutos pala sakin si ma'am Bernardo. Pagkalapit ko kay coach I called up his attention, “Ugh... Sir, excuse po.”

“Yes?” hindi matapang pero hindi din naman malumanay ang tono nito. Just flat.

“May pinapadeliver po si ma'am Bernardo, ito po oh. I think she need your sign, sir.” kinuha ni coach Patrick ang document sa kamay ko and then he read them, he examined the documents. I usually don't like waiting, pero kung ganito naman ang view na lagi kong makikita sa pagiintay ay tatanggapin ko 'to ng sobrang maluwag sa kalooban.

Nakalibot ulit sila ng isa pa hanggang sa maynarinig akong sumigaw, “President!” binati na naman ako ni Paul, the athletes look my way dahil sa sigaw ni Paul. And then for a moment, nagtama ang mata namin ni Isaiah! Naramdaman ko na naman yung paggalaw ng kung anu-anong internal organs ko just right in my tummy. They called it butterflies. Ano man ang tawag nila, it is sure tickling, yet feels good.

“Another lap for you Paul! Focus! Focus!” sigaw ni sir. Bago pa man makalagpas silang mga nagwawarm-up ay ngumiti sa akin si Isaiah!

Sh*t. Sh*t. Sh*t!

But time doesn't run accord to what I want.

“Here,” iniabot sa akin ni sir Patrick ang document, and I have no more reason to stay. Then I left, hoping na sana nakatingin si Isaiah.
