I promise

Kakashi cried into her choking out a "I promise I'll never leave you again."

She couldn't remember everything that happened but it was enough to hurt really bad. She felt embarrassed, ashamed, disgusted, she wanted to disappear. The thought of Orochimaru made her want to puke. Which she almost did. Saliva filled her mouth and she struggled to keep it down.

Kakashi said sorry over and over and over. She didn't want him to hurt.

"You better be ya know!" She started chocking down her sobs "it hurt s-so bad." Her voice was now cracking and she lifted her hands from kakashi and covered her face. "You were all I had, my world fell apart."

He lifted his head up, she could see is tear stained cheeks and red eyes. He put a hand behind her head pulling her to him, resting her forehead on his. With the other hand he wiped her tears.

"I was terrified. I was a coward. The second I really fell for you I froze up and convinced myself I wasn't good enough. I thought I'd break you, I didn't want to distract you. I wanted you to be happy, I didn't think you could ever be happy with me. Which is selfish of me to make that decision for you I know. I wasn't that I wasn't ready, it was that I wanted to be with you so bad it was all I could think about. I ended up over thinking everything and ruined it for myself. I looked for you in everyone, I did love rin but I only loved the parts of her that reminded me of you. I was selfish to her too. I don't know what I'm supposed to do Hikari, no one ever told me how love could drive you this crazy. You're all I want. I've loved you for years, I'm in love with you."

She started at him with wide eyes. She prayed for those words. She dreamed of him saying those sweet words to her. Her tears stopped and her arms wrapped around his neck and she pulled him closer.

"You have no idea how long I've been waiting for you to say that."

He hugged her back, burying his head in her neck. He knew that wasn't going to magically fix everything but no matter what it took her do It, because he wants her.

"I wanna go home." The pain of what happened hit her again and she rested her head on him.

He got up, picking her up with him. Holding her bridal style. She put her hand on his chest and rested her head on him listening to his heartbeat.

The wind from kakashi jumping from tree branch to tree beach made her eyes water and shiver. Everything felt like a dream. She needed to ask minato is what Orochimaru said was true.

As much as it hurt she could understand if it was true. That was probably the tip he said he got. She could be a big threat, but she would never do that to her village.

"Kakashi"

"Hmm"

"Orochimaru said minato knew it was a trap."

He took a second before saying "we don't know if Orochimaru is telling the truth. I doubt he is though. Minato would never do that unless he had a reason."

"Orochimaru gave the village a fake tip saying I was going to join him. They wanted to test it.."

He took awhile to think this time. He seemed angry.
"I'm sure they didn't know this would happen" he tightened his grip on her "if they were doubting you before I'm sure they won't now."

Not too long after that they were coming close to the village.

"Where is Obito and rin" she finally asked after being too afraid

"...rin wanted to go back to the village. So Obito escorted her back."

That hurt. She tried to understand where rin was coming from though.

"Is she mad at me?"

"No she's mad at me." He sighed

When they arrived to the village kakashi took Hikari straight to the hokage's office. Before they read he'd the door they saw Kushina as she walked out.

"There you two are!" She ran to give hikari a hug but she flinched. "Are you alright?"

"I guess- It's just." She started tearing up and Kushina pulled her away.

Kakashi walked into minato a office to give them space.

"What happened? Hikari?"

In between sobs she said "he rapped me. Minato knew it was a trap."

Kushina froze and started blankly, she didn't say anything. She didn't move.

Even when Hikari was called into the office.

"Minato please tell me it's not true" hikari was standing right in front of his desk with her fist clenched. Kakashi was behind her.

"I'm sorry Hikari, I had the village to worry about. I know you would never but if word got out about it it would of cause a lot of trouble for you and me. I didn't know that would happen I thought since Kakashi, Obito, and rin were with you they could help if something happened. I never thought this would...... I'm so sorry" the look in his eyes told her he was sincere.

"I understand" was all she said and then walked away, kakashi close behind her. Kushina was still in the hallway, once they left she walked in.

She stormed out the doors and kept going. She didn't know where she was going but she kept walking. Kakashi caught her arm and pulled himself to her so that they would be next to each other.

"Hikari talk to me."

She was trying so hard not to cry. She didn't want people to see her cry. If she talked she'd cry, so she shook her head no and looked at him. He understood.

"Come here" he pulled her into a hug, having her face be buried into his chest and he whispered "it's alright no one can see your face."

They stayed like that for awhile. When she calmed down she said "I wanna go home"

He nodded and that's where they went. As soon as she walked into her apartment she threw her shoes off and ran to her room jumping on her bed putting her face in her pillow. Kakashi followed and sat in the chair he was in the other night.

"Kakashi"

"Hmm"

She looked up at him "could I ask you something really weird, you don't have to answer if you don't want to."

He raised an eyebrow "ya sure."

"Are you going to get back together with rin when things die down..."

His face softened "no"

She didn't want to pry but she couldn't help it "how come?"

He locked eyes with her "because I want you."
