"This is it huh?" Hikari looked at her feet.
Kakashi crossed his arms "not exactly. Just for now. I'll wait for you alright Hikari. Can you do something for me?"
She nodded.
"Don't loose hope because I never will. I'll never stop loving you and I mean it."
"I will." She looked up sadly. "I think I have to go now."
He nodded and stepped aside. Kakashi watched her walk until she was no longer in view.
Although Hikari was crushed she knew deep down this is what was best. She tried to stay optimistic about the situation though, it could be a life changing experience. Whatever happens one thing is for sure, she'd see him again.
The journey to the lightning country was a long one. By the time she got there her feet ached and all Hikari thought about was wanting to take a shower.
The politicians name was Kin and his sons name was Kai. So far she's learned a few things about them. Kin is never home and his wife died while giving birth to Kai. The boy was eight years old.
After Kin went over the rules with her Kai was taking her around the huge house for a tour.
"Now we've seen pretty much everything so I'll show you your room!" The boy smiled pulling her along by her hand.
"A-alright"
He yanked her threw the hallways taking turns left and right before coming across a big door.
"Here we are! It's pretty close to mine."
Hikari's eyes scanned the room. It was immaculate. It seemed as if it was someone's room before hers.
"Who stayed in here before me?"
Kai shyly smiled "my mom. This was her personal room."
Hikari stood in the middle of the room awkwardly. "O-oh..."
"Don't worry! I don't mind that you are staying in here, neither does anyone else. It usually a guest bedroom anyway."
She nodded.
Eventually he left her alone to settle in. She planned on going right to sleep once she unpacked.
She noticed the present rin had given her, it had made its way to the bottom of her back pack. Hikari hesitated reaching for it. Sitting with it in her lap for a long time.
She was scared to see what it was, because she knew it would hurt. Hikari was doing a good job of pushing her emotions down, replacing them with "this is what's best."
Eventually she unwrapped it.
Her brows furrowed. It was a plane sand colored 4x5 book. She didn't realize what it really was until she opened it, instantly she had to close her eyes and take a breath. It was a photo album. Her eyes instantly fell on a picture of her, kakashi, and naruto at the ramen shop.
It felt like a whole other life ago.
There were pictures from all the way back to academy days. She took her time flipping threw the pages until she got to the last page.
It was her and kakashi. A picture she never knew existed. Drops of tears began to fall on the plastic protector.
In the picture Hikari had her arms wrapped around kakashi from the back, leaning her forehead on his back while he kissed her hands.
Under it was a single sentence written in kakashi's handwriting.
"Till we meet again, loser."
