Little life update: for awhile I abandoned this book but it started gaining a lot of popularity and it motivated me to write some more because I didn't want to disappoint anyone. Hikari is a lot like me and we share a lot of the same experience so writing this book was like therapy for me. It gave me something to look forward to, I'm forever grateful to each and everyone of you who has supported me.

Hikari found herself in a never ending pattern of waking up and falling back asleep. Every time her eyes opened the fear of this all being a dream crept over.
The comfort of home, of kakashi's loving arms loosely around her, that was the thing that kept her going. Hikari has almost gotten use to the feeling of loneliness, the feeling of night terrors, living in fear under that roof.
Although she never brought it up to anyone and tried her best to push it away the inevitable truth was her years away were absolute hell. The first three years there Hikari became well aware of the abuse the young boy had to face when he did wrong, the cruel punishments were so unnerving Hikari began taking them for the boy. After awhile of that the young boy took on a lot of his fathers vices and found a since of superiority over the woman.
Hilarious jolted awake from a nightmare, she prayed it wasn't enough to wake up kakashi. She held her breath, heart pounding in her ears, when his grip tightened around her waist.
"You've never been able to hide anything from me, especially things like that. I can tell something's been bothering you, does it have to do with your mission?" His husky voice broke the silence. Hikari would have lived to curse right then and there, there were downfalls to knowing someone as much as she knew kakashi- he knew her just as much. Their enormous bond was something she always cherished but in moments like this it would be nice for at least one thing to pass under his radar.

"It's fine kakashi."

"No it's not," his hands traveled up her spine, entangling in her hair. She let him twirl the strands around, even now she felt bliss.
"When we retrieved you I could tell from your demeanor, the boys, that mans. Something happened. I can tell when you look off into space with a small smile, that smile doesn't mean you're thinking of something happy. If you don't tell me tell Lord fourth when you report to him in the morning."

"I love you kakashi," her lip started quivering as she spoke in low whispers, "but I can't tell you."

"You've never not been able to tell me anything before, is it bad?"

"Yes."

"I know you still just got here and that the wound is fresh. You're safe here, I've got you. You don't ever have to be afraid again. You don't have to tell me, but you can if you ever want to."
Hikari nodded, letting his words sink in for a few minutes before saying,
"Could we go in my room? I want to sleep in my own bed again."

"Of course."

She was caught off guard when he effortlessly got up with her, she felt a little guilty knowing she was keeping him awake when he had responsibilities early in the morning, but being with him was a necessity right now.
He laid down with her again, they both appreciated being able to stretch their legs out.
Hikari scooted so her back was facing kakashi, he threw an arm around her and she closed her eyes. In that moment things felt perfect.

"I'm so happy right now," Kakashi whispered into her hair.

Hikari crossed her arms with a frown as she walked to the Hokage's office alone. Kakashi was busy with his team and everyone else was busy with their lives. Hikari, however, was busy getting called to the "stupid" Hokage's office.

She opened the door without her foot. "Minato how nice of you to summon me," she stopped in front of his desk.

"Good morning Hikari."
