Hikari watched kakashi with a blank expression as he carried on with training his genin. She watched sasuke as well, having the Hokage's words replay on her mind.

Minato was right, she was different and as much as she didn't want to admit it she wasn't naive to that. The old sasuke to the one before her was drastically different, and not just because of maturing. The deep traumas He has faced at such a young age stole his carefree smile and uncontrollable fits of laughter. Hikari knew all too well what that felt like and it caused her stomach to drop to imagine such a young boy going through it.

For now she was going to leave him in kakashi's hands but soon she'd have to make her move. Although she isn't exactly the best role model of healing for someone to look up to, she'd gather every single last piece of advice she had to give to the boy if it could help At least a little.

Hikari soon found herself wandering around the village looking for something to do. She didn't have that many more day offs so making the most of them was a necessity.

"Hey Hikari, nice seeing you here!"

Hikari looked up to see Minori. "Nice seeing you too! Gosh I didn't know you'd be here, I thought you'd be busy studying about bowel functions or something- ya know because you work in the hospital."

"Yeah I got the joke. It's my lunch break, I always come down here for it. I usually spend my lunches by myself but I wouldn't mind if you tagged along, that is if you don't have any plans."

"Lucky for you I have zero plans."

The two girls went to Minori's usual spot and sat down. Hikari still wasn't used to seeing the girl, the fact she was sitting in front of her still felt like a dream.

"Why do you usually eat alone, doesn't akane join you?"

"No, my lunch time is usually the only me time I have. I'd much rather spend it with you today than be all alone." She let out a small laugh, breaking her chopsticks apart. "I would have expected to see you eating lunch with Kakashi, was he too busy today?"

"Most likely. He spends his days training his squad, it takes up all his time."

"I never would have expected kakashi to pick a job that involved kids."

"Me either!" Hikari shook her head. "He seems to be doing good with them, I mean he hasn't killed them yet so that's a plus."

"Kakashi has changed a lot since you last saw him."

Hikari couldn't begin to explain just how right the girl was. It was like coming home to a completely different man, well not exactly completely. "Yeah you're right about that. I can tell he's a lot more patient now, which will be good on my part."

"Is it weird seeing how much he has changed, like a bad kind of weird."

"Definitely not. A lot about him has changed but there's still a lot of things that are the same; he's still my same Kakashi in all the parts that matter."

"We're you ever worried that he'd change too much?"

"Sometimes yes, to be completely honest I was a little scared I'd be the one that changed too much."

"Really? You seem completely fine to me!"

Hikari smiled, not bothering to say it out loud but not being able to help thinking 'if you only knew.'  "That's a relief."

For the rest of the day Hikari went back to her apartment. She sat down at her table, kicking her feet as she tried to read a scroll. Her mind kept wandering around finding a world of new things to contemplate. At her age she is supposed to start thinking about marriage and kids and everything that comes with it. The thought alone made her head spin. She knew the time would come but now that it's here it seemed too real.

The door opened, revealing a sweaty kakashi. He looked at her with sparking eyes, happy he had someone to welcome him home once again.

He removed his shoes and other equipment. Hikari watched, not making a sound. As excited as she was to see him she was still panicking. "Would you ever marry me?"

He didn't seem fazed by her sudden question, things like that weren't out of the ordinary for Hikari to do. "I'd marry you right now."

"Good. Just checking."

He walked over to her, kissing the top of her head. Kakashi wasn't going to rush her, so he peacefully sat down next to her and waited for her to begin asking more questions.

"Would you ever have kids with me?"

"Id have them right now."

She nodded. "Would you ever... actually I don't have another question my first two pretty much summed it up."

"Were you worried I'd say no to them?"

She shook her head no, even though the answer was yes. Admitting her fears would be meaningless when she knew what he'd say, or at least what she expected him to say. He could repeat it a million times to her, shout it to the heavens, but she still would feel as if he didn't want everything with her.

"I know you are."

Hikari nodded.

"You already know why you shouldn't be worried then, am I correct?"

She nodded again.

He grabbed her hand, raising it to his cheek. He cupped his jaw with her hand, instantly making her melt. "There's no need to worry about anything anymore, I'm right by your side. Whatever we do I promise it will be the thing that brings us the most joy and involves me spending the rest of my life with you."

Hikari smiled shyly, slowly getting up and sitting down on his lap. She didn't mind that he was sweaty, right now she just needed to be close to him. She wrapped her arms around him, putting her head on his shoulder. Kakashi pulled her closer to his body, wrapping his arms around her.

"You stink."

He rolled his eyes, "how sweet of you."

She pulled away, looking into his eyes with a smirk. "My bad," she began fluttering her eyelashes. " wow kakashi, you stink." Her tone was plastic and overly nice, enough to make kakashi roll his eyes once more.

"Even better."
