Chapter Ten
I practiced my swordsmanship for most of the week. One day, I met a knight who was a champion jouster. He helped me, told me the rules, and gave me very helpful tips. The knight’s name was Fredrick. He was tall and lean. I wondered how he was a jousting champion but never asked. We talked for a long time and I believe we will be good friends. We talked about many things ranging from the thief Nikolas, to the upcoming tournament. Fredrick told me that he was the guard sent with the tax collector last week. I asked him about the robbery and he told me that there was 12 men. They had swords, bows and arrows, and daggers. He was greatly outnumbered. I learned that Nikolas was giving the money back to the poor. I do not want to arrest these men anymore. They are helping more that causing trouble.
When I came back in from practicing, I looked for Jasmine. I found her in the sewing shop. They were teaching her new techniques.
“Jasmine, I need to talk to you alone please,” I said.
“Is something wrong, Henry?” she asked worriedly when we walked outside.
“No, not that I know of. Have you told Arianna yet?” I asked.
“No. I’ve been putting it off. I don’t want to tell her. What if she gets mad? I don’t know what to say or how she will respond. Oh Henry, can’t you tell her? Please,” she said.
“Jasmine, you need to tell her. I had thought King Phillip would have told her by now. But since he has not, you have to. I’m sorry that you have to tell her by yourself, but she needs to know. We can’t keep it a secret from her any longer,” I replied.
“I will soon,” said Jasmine.
“You will tell her now. Arianna is in her room. Now go over and tell her. I’ll see you at dinner, okay?”
“Fine,” agreed Jasmine. I watched her walk towards Arianna’s room. ‘Lord, please give Jasmine strength. Please help Arianna to understand and help her to be happy about it,’ I prayed.

I heard a soft knock on the door. “Come in,” I answered. Jasmine walked in the room. She looked very concerned and frightened. “Is everything alright?” I asked.
“Yes, everything is lovely. How do you feel about Henry joining the tournament?” she asked.
“Honestly, I don’t know when I’ve been happier. To tell you the truth, I care for him deeply. He is the most sweetest, kindest, generous, and handsome man I have ever know,” I said.
“I’m happy for you,” she said.
“Jasmine, you’re nervous about something. What’s wrong?”
“I don’t know how to tell you this, Arianna. I’ve been contemplating how to tell you for more than a week, but I still don’t know how,” Jasmine answered.
“You can tell my anything. I will keep your secret,” I replied.
“But it shouldn’t be a secret. You should’ve known about it sooner. Your father should be telling you, not me,” said Jasmine.
“What is it?” I asked. I was beginning to get impatient and curious.
“Arianna, we are sisters,” she said.
“Sisters? You have to be joking. How can we be sister?”
“We’re twins. Our mother gave birth to both of us. I’m not sure why they separated us though. Arianna please do not be mad at me,” Jasmine begged.
