"Why don't you come inside too? You need to rest." she said before going back inside.

He flipped the page of his Make-Out Paradise novel. "I said I was fine."

As she made her way to her room, she sighed, "Huh, I wonder how stubborn his student is.

He watched the sun rise, then he too, went back indoors. It was a few hours later, so obviously, Yumika was asleep. He sat at her table and waited for her to serve him breakfast.

He checked the time and realized he had quite some time to kill. He steadied his crutch and went outside.

Since her house was at a fairly elevated altitude, he had a nice view of Kirigakure. The ocean was a murky blue-gray shade, the orange haze slowly leaving as the sun was setting its place in the sky. The overall mist over the village gave a calm vibe, which he found rather peaceful. The wind kissed his cheeks with elegance, and he felt such trust that he closed his eyes to savour the beauty of the land.

He began to walk slowly to the edge of the hill, wobbling slightly at first. He then chucked his wooden stick over the hill, watching it land in the creek below.

"Careful." a voice pointed out. "You could've hurt someone."

He briefly turned his head to find Yumika standing there. Her hair was tied in a simple braid, dangling off her right shoulder, and it was dancing gracefully in the breeze along with the hem of her lavender long skirt. She had a white t-shirt tucked inside. He blinked then turned back to the horizon.

"Who could I have hurt down there anyways?" he asked, clearing his throat.

"Hm, the creek does have some animals down there. Maybe a beaver?"

He shrugged, "Free meat." When she smiled and rolled her eyes at him, he gave a short chuckle.

She tucked her loose bangs behind her ear, "Let's go back inside."

"Right." he followed her, nearly stumbling, but regained his balance quickly.

"Now if only you had kept that crutch.." she teased while offering her arm. "Take it, if you'd like."

"Tch.." he scoffed. "I'm fine.."

As she served him breakfast, he sat down at the table.

"I've decided that I'll leave today." he declared, watching her pour juice in his glass. "I've caused you enough trouble already."

She glanced at him suddenly, then shook her head. "Please don't leave thinking you were a burden."

"I suppose it's time to head back to my students. We need to go back."

She nodded in agreement. The two quickly finished their meals and got his things packed up. Kakashi stood at her door, facing her, ready to depart.

"Now you know where I live," she mused. "so you can visit or fight me anytime you'd like."

"Hopefully just the first one.." he chuckled. "I'd first like to thank you for taking care of me, I guess."

She turned to the other cheek, "I'd appreciate it if we kept this between us. It'd ruin my reputation as a Hunte--!"

"Despite all that I said about that, you still choose to be in that affiliation?" his voice was deeper, indicating mild anger.

Yumika looked down suddenly. She hadn't officially quit but she wasn't sure if she was going to.

He didn't say anything. They stood there in silence, when he finally piped up, "Er, well, thanks again for everything. I hope we can meet up sometime in the future. And not to kill each other or anything."

"I suppose that would be nice.." she finally met his eyes. "Are you sure you don't want me to escort you?"

He shook his head. "No, no. It's alright. Goodbye, then...Yumi." Upon using a new pet name for her, she flinched, then averted her eyes while blushing.

He observed this amusingly, "Heh, mind if I call you that~?"

She shrugged, then coughed, "Take care, alright? Don't get yourself killed."

"As long as you won't."

She hesitated before waving, then shut the door.

Kakashi stood for a moment, replaying the last few minutes in his head, then turned around to head back.
