The Chunin Exams (flashback):
"Might Guy versus Yumika Tsuchida!" The billboard read.
"Good luck, Guy!" Kurenai smiled, giving him a pat on the back.
"You got this!" Asuma flashed a grin.
Kakashi looked over at Guy and gave him a simple nod, which was a lot from him.
Guy nodded as he leaped over the gate and jumped down to the platform, where his opponent was already there.
The girl was his age, with white hair pulled back in two pig tails. She looked terrified, body trembling with fear, as she pulled out her kunai knife. She wouldn't meet his eyes.
"The name's Guy, Might Guy!" he grinned, pointed his thumb to his chest. "And you're Yumika?"
She nodded, "H-hello.."
Kakashi frowned at the girl, remembering her from the Academy. Was she still pathetic? There was no way she'd win against Guy.
The Sensei signaled his arm. "And...BEGIN!"
Yumika moved quickly and ended up behind him before he could even turn around, slashing her knife to his back. Guy winced, but he stayed calm. He was only getting started.
A mistake that Yumika made was starting off with Taijutsu, which--although was her forte--it was nothing compared to Guy's taijutsu. She gave another punch right into his gut, which he noticed was mediocrely weak.
Guy continued using Taijutsu; she could block, but could not deal the same amount of damage he could since she was weaker.
Yumika shot another punch, but Guy blocked it using his forearm. He didn't want to waste any more time with this girl; he needed to end the match quickly and cleanly.
The fight was clearly in the hands of Guy, but at one point, she stood back and closed her eyes.
"Hidden arts: hydro cannon jutsu!" she commanded, as she brought her arms out in front of her, aiming her palms at him.
Two rapid jets of water shot at him with incredible force. His eyes widened as he was doused with water, skidding on his feet back against the wall.
"Not..bad.." he muttered, wasting no time at all and lunged at her once more.
They continued to fight, just until Yumika's attention was lost completely. She didn't even realize what was happening until she heard the following sentence:
"Leaf Hurricane!" Guy yelled as he jumped into the air and begun to swing his leg around.
Yumika gasped aloud. The impact was so forceful, she flew backward and landed painfully on her leg. She tried getting up, but her leg buckled and she fell face first onto the hard floor. A small puddle of blood lay beneath her.
'As expected,' Kakashi mused, watching her almost lifeless body crumple.
A Sensei sprinted towards the girl and checked for her pulse, which was very faint.
"Medic!" he yelled, as four men, dressed in all white, hurried toward the injured girl, lifting her onto the stretcher. Guy breathing became heavy, as he held his slightly wounded arm. He returned back to his friends, where Rin offered him some herbs for his wound.
"You did awesome, Guy!" Rin smiled.
Obito laughed. "She almost got you that time...you're super lucky!"
Asuma and Kurenai joined them, congratulating Guy.
"You did great, Guy." Minato smiled, giving him a small pat on the shoulder, "Though those hydro cannons had me worried."
They all couldn't help but agree; they didn't know she had it in her. Kakashi and Guy looked down over at the platform and found her being carried away on the stretcher and they all suddenly felt a bit of guilt.

The next morning, Kakashi decided to take a stroll around the hospital, when he found Rin kneeling by a flower bed. Confused, he walked up to her and asked what she was doing.
"I'm picking flowers for Obito, Kakashi!" she giggled. "He did so well yesterday at the exams, so I decided that I'd surprise him with flowers!"
He gave a shrug and was about to turn around when Rin called his name.
"Hey, Kakashi! You know, you should go visit Yumika at the hospital too! Guy already went earlier today with Kurenai and Asuma. I think it'd be nice if you brought her some flowers too!"
Kakashi thought about it for a moment. "I don't see why not." he shuffled towards the garden next to Rin and picked a rose and a daffodil.
Rin waved, as she turned left into a room, where Kakashi presumed Obito was in. Kakashi asked the receptionist where the girl's room was. She said it was the second last room down the hall.
He softly tapped the door with the back of his knuckle, then slowly opened the door. He stepped in, and sure enough, the girl was in there. He quietly walked towards, for her eyes were shut. A small creak came from the floor board; her eyes shot open in an instant. At first, she looked alarmed, but then she gave a small smile. Kakashi's mask covered his blush, as he hid the flowers behind his back.
"Oh, it's you..." she said, her voice weak. "Here to..laugh?"
Kakashi gently placed the flowers gently onto the table next to her bed. "I came to see how you were doing."
"Oh.." she dropped her gaze. "I'm f..fine."
"You've gotten a bit better since the academy, though.." he noted quietly, having a sudden interest in his shoes.
"I'll take that as a c..compliment." She decided. "You and the others are impressive as usual." He almost felt as if she was mocking him.
Kakashi knew it wasn't Yumika's fault for being a rusty ninja. Because her parents lived in different villages, she had to travel a lot in her life which lead to her missing school days. She was occasionally behind on studies and training that even her smarts wouldn't help her.
Realizing he had been there for longer than intended, Kakashi turned to the other cheek, "I better be going now. I'll come and visit you later on."
"O-okay."
He bowed his head quickly, as he stepped out of the room when he heard a small voice calling him.
"Th..thank you for the flowers."
When he didn't respond, she added, "I hope we meet again..when I'm stronger.."
