The night was slightly colder than usual, but luckily the jonins on the mission were geared up appropriately. Out of the group, Kakashi and Might Guy walked behind the rest of them, which gave them time to chat. Of course, it was mostly Guy talking and Kakashi listening, but neither of them seemed to mind since it was like that usually. Besides, Kakashi had his signature novel with him to somewhat tune his rival out; though sometimes, Guy had some pretty interesting stories.

"--and wanna know what I said to him? 'How about you shut up?'" Guy said with great expression. "But yeah, that's how I got an extra rice ball with my order of soup."

"How very fascinating." Kakashi mused, flipping to the next page of his book.

"Anyways, enough about me," Guy adjusted his bag's straps. "Tell me about Yumimi; how'd you guys get reunited?"

Kakashi continued to scan the page he was on, but he answered, "I can't remember, but not too long ago. A few months maybe?"

"Really? I didn't know she was still in Konohagakure." Guy rubbed his chin thoughtfully.

"She wasn't: we met in Kirigakure,"

Guy raised a thick brow, "Hm? And what were you doing down there?"

"Mission with Team Seven." Kakashi then lowered his book, along with his voice. "I'll tell you everything, just keep your mouth shut."

He briefly filled Might Guy in about his encounter with Yumika and the Hunter-Nin. The entire time he spoke, Kakashi noticed Guy wasn't giving quirky comments here and there, meaning that he was being serious for once. There was silence between the two when Kakashi finished speaking.

"So," Guy finally reacted. "he isn't dead, right? The Demon of the Mist?"

Kakashi was about to respond when he suddenly tensed and shot a kunai up behind him. The entire squad of jonins turned around, hearing the clang between Kakashi's kunai and an unidentified shuriken.

"We're under attack!" Kakashi called out.

And with that, they all prepared for battle, which was only the start of what was yet to come on their mission.

Three days had already flown by ever since Kakashi's departure, but Yumika was used to it. She would wake up as per usual, fix herself some food, spend some time outside and then come back home quickly. There weren't many missions for her to take lately, so she spent her leisure time either alone or with friends.

Yumika was surprised to hear the doorbell ring when she stepped out of the shower. Quickly changing into her clothes, she kept her damp towel draped around her shoulders and hurried to the door. As she opened it, she saw a pair of shiny emerald eyes gleaming at her.

"Sakura?" Yumika questioned while rubbing her hair with the towel. "What brings you here?"

"It's been a while, hasn't it, Yumi-Sama?" she replied while trying to peering behind Yumika. "Is somebody home?"

"Ah, no," Yumika replied, while allowed Sakura inside. "but I thought you already knew that he was off on a mission."

Sakura widened her eyes, "Kakashi sensei's on a mission? That jerk never told us!"

"Oh?" Yumika frowned, confused, as she made her way to the kitchen to grab some refreshments.

"Normally, when he goes on missions, he's gone within seconds," Sakura admitted. "it's quite shocking he told somebody."

Before Yumika could reply, Sakura added, "But of course he'd tell you~"

"D-don't be ridiculous," Yumika hushed. "we're roommates; of course he'd tell me."

"Roommates? More like soulmates~"

"Oh, hush," Yumika rolled her eyes at the pink haired girl while carrying a tall glass of iced tea. "Take this before I change my mind."

Sakura stared up at her former teacher in shock. Two seconds later, the two broke into laughter.

"I missed you, Sakura," Yumika pressed her cheek against the girls. "and your quirky comments."

"And I've missed making fun of you and ranting to you," Sakura agreed, "Oh, which reminds me! We have so much to catch up on!"

"How about you finish that drink while I get ready," Yumika held a finger up. "then we'll go out for lunch."

Sakura stuck her tongue out playfully, "It's a date~!"

After Yumika dried her hair completely, the two headed outside. The took a light stroll around the village, enjoying each other's company very much.

"With sensei gone, I haven't been able to see Sasuke for a while," Sakura pouted, swinging her locked hands behind her back. She then looked up at Yumika, "But I'm not alone: you haven't seen sensei either."

"Well, the house d-does get quiet," Yumika looked down to hide her minor blush. "but I'm used to living alone."

"Hm," Sakura mused. "do you miss Kirigakure, Yumi-Sama?"

Yumika gave a soft smile, "I'd be lying if I said I didn't. It's my second home, so of course."

"Why don't you go vis--!" Sakura's voice faltered, remembering the condition they had left Kirigakure in. "Sorry.."

"It's fine." Yumika moistened her lips, grimly reminded of her past as a Hunter-Nin. Her gaze went to her left, noticing a restaurant.

"Let's go eat there, Sakura."
