Weeks went by, and everything was at peace. The Hatake pair were back to their usual selves, with the exception of a more hormonal and emotional Yumika.

"You look fat today," Kakashi remarked from the couch, peering at her small bump on her lower stomach.

"Excuse me?!" she was at a loss for words.

"The b-baby! I meant the baby--! Oh great." he heard her wail and run back to their room. "Good grief, at least she isn't always like this."

Although the Leaf Village was at ease, the same could not be said about the Land of Waves.

Over there, Zabuza had just come from another dangerous mission. He threw his sword onto the floor and sat on a mattress on the ground. With one hand removing his mask, the other searched under his pillow until it clasped around a crumpled up photograph. It was a picture of one of his former ANBU members, Yumika Tsuchida.

"Haku." he called out. "HAKU!"

Within seconds, his loyal and obedient servant was in front of him, "Yes, Master?" He looked at the photograph in his hands and widened his eyes, "Is it finally time?!"

Zabuza grimly nodded and cracked his neck, "We leave tonight."

"Of course, master. But might I ask why you waited so long?"

He chuckled, while ruffling Haku's raven coloured hair, "Revenge is something that is best when it is anticipated."

"And also since she'd least expect it, right, Master?!" Haku's eyes light up.

"Yes, my boy. You learn fast." Zabuza flexed his shoulders, "That traitor thinks she can get away from me. Abandon old comrades, the old life. It's all wrong. Your past always remains."

Haku tilted his head, "I beg your pardon?"

"Shut up..." he grumbled. "I want you to first track her down."

Haku stood up and bowed obediently, "Yes, sir." He turned around and scurried away.

Haku knew that Zabuza would never go easy on her...even if they shared a close yet professional bond back then. He knew that his master wouldn't let her see another day the moment he found her.

"You're gonna be late for your training! Hurry up!" Yumika scrambled out of the kitchen, shoved a sandwich into his mouth and pushed him towards the door.

"Jacket?" Kakashi muffled with food in his mouth, downing half a bottle of water to help him swallow. "Thanks, Yumi."

"I have to mop today, so take your sandals off before you come ins--mmph!" he interrupted her with an unexpected kiss, amused by her widened eyes and muffled nagging.

"Yeah, yeah, I'll see if I remember."

"I'm serious! Don't forget!"

He chuckled as he closed the door behind him, "Love ya, wifey~"

"Did he just say lo-love? Aaah.." Her face turned bright red. The slamming of the door echoed and snapped her out of her daze. "That man.. such a handful."

She blushed at the thought of him and began her daily chores.

~~~
The early morning sunrise was hidden behind gray clouds which seemed to grow darker by the minute, which was an unusually fast transition.
"Morning, Sensei!" Sakura greeted.
"Kakashi Sensei!" Naruto suddenly whined. "Can we skip today's lesson? It's so dark outside!"
"Wow..that was fast! Scary!" Sakura looked up at the sky and snuggled closer towards Sasuke, who pushed her back.
"Ugh," Sasuke mumbled.
"No. All of you shut it." Kakashi snapped, even though the omen-like weather was giving him the chills too. "We're still going--!"
A crack of lightning struck the tree parallel to them all. Sakura screamed hugged Naruto, who yelped as well. Kakashi had a mini heart attack when he heard the thunder that shook the ground afterwards.
"Holy crap, that was close!" Naruto exclaimed.
"This is weird..." Sasuke muttered. "Weather suited for an attack today."
"Oh, don't be ridiculous," Kakashi replied, hoping Sasuke wasn't going to jinx things.
Naruto and Sakura shouted again, "Are we gonna die?!"
Kakashi took a step but realized that his foot pressed on something wet. He looked down to find his sandal soaking up the water underneath his foot. And it hadn't even started to rain yet.
"This is odd.." Sasuke whispered.
"And scary!" Sakura began, when Kakashi repeated the gesture to her and Sasuke as well. They both hushed up.
Kakashi knelt down, and looked down at the puddle, "This looks strangely familiar...I just can't seem to put my finger on it."
"Sure ya can!" Naruto replied loudly. He took Kakashi's hand and plopped his index into the icy cold water and then dipped it out. "See? You can put your finger on it!"
Sakura rolled her eyes, "You idiot..."
Naruto opened his mouth to speak when the clouds rumbled again. This time, even Sasuke stood up straight into surprise. A flash of lightning was visable in the horizon. Kakashi looked up at the sky and began to walk off.
"It isn't safe near the trees here. Let's go continue our lesson elsewhere." he decided hollowly.
Sakura and Naruto both ran ahead of Kakashi, while Sasuke walked with Kakashi at the back. They made it outside of the forest when it suddenly began to rain; hard. It all poured down on the children, who began to shout and scream in shock. Sakura frantically waved her hands to block the downpour, but no such luck. All the kids were soaked. Kakashi hovered over his students, the rain pounding more on him than the genin. It was a great sacrifice; having to move around with three 12-year-olds huddling Kakashi would impair his quick movements.
He had to keep the rain away from Sakura, Naruto and Sasuke, so he told them to run in sync with his feet so they would move quickly. One beat-miss--or in this case 'Feet-miss'-- and the four would slip together.
"Hurry!" Kakashi ordered, and the four took off at magnificent speed; their clothes absorbing the icy cold water.
~~~

Over at the house, Yumi's head began to hurt again. She closed her eyes and held her forehead to try and soothe it.

She placed her cup of tea down beside her and walked across the room to grab a woollen blanket.

"That's odd." she mused. "The weather was fine before I made this tea."

Her anxious thoughts made her abandon the book she was reading and rather stare out the window.

---

Zabuza and Haku knelt behind a bush, peering at the Hatake residence. Zabuza adjusted his sword, while Haku cracked his knuckles, "You've waited so long for this.."

Zabuza glowered, as he glanced at Haku; adjusting his own mask? "You ready, kid?"

Haku nodded briefly and the two took off in the rain; pulling their black hoods on.
