II - The New Gear

<Rias' POV>

Loud rumbles filled the silent night. Ahead of us was a strange glowing purple tear-like shape in the thin air. It was growing larger and larger. "Issei,have a clue what's going on?" I turned towards Issei who was clueless. He shook his head and then pointed towards the rift. "Look, what's coming out?" I turned back to face it, a large mechanical vehicle was released, heading directly at us. Issei created his armour. "Promotion to-" I cut him off. "No, not yet." He looked at me confused. "Why not?" I smiled. "Hopefully we won't have to fight." I created my wings and flew up into the air. The strange turret on the bottom pointed towards me and began to glow. It then shot a beam at me, I managed to evade it just in time. About another 7 came out of the portal, they all seemed to be coming towards us, but also separating.

The portal began to change colour, as well as grow smaller. Then, a small figure appeared out of it. The figure launched an attack right at one of the fortresses. "What is that?" I tried to see it but couldn't focus on it, it was moving too fast. It then created 4 large portals, but all seemed to get larger as they went towards the fortress. The person launched an attack through it and it got stronger and stronger. It then hit the last vehicle causing one of it's legs to break and throw itself to the floor. I noticed he held his hand up, and it began to glow. The fortresses began to speed up, walking on all 4s faster.

"Is that Yuki?" Issei asked. I looked towards him, it did resemble him. "Perhaps. No wait, he said he was out on a trip. And he would've contacted me if there was trouble." Issei looked at me. Kiba appeared out of nowhere. "Are we going to watch?" I nodded "For now."

<Yuki's POV>

I held my glove up, following my dragons command. "Focus all your energy on it." I started to but got hit by a beam from a fortress. I was launched to the ground, unprotected. I hit my head on a slab as I landed on by back. I held it in pain as blood began to drip down. "Stupid fortresses." I stood up as I wiped some of the dust and dirt off me. I began to focus on my hand again. "Now, if you really want, I can lend you some strength." I nodded. "I would like so." "Ok, but you won't be able to last for about 10 minuets." I felt a surge of energy shoot through my hand, shooting through my veins. "So what will this do?"

"The linger you last without taking much damage, the longer you will gain strength in one attribute of your choice. You can always change, but you will temporarily stop when you take damage." I smiled. "Ok, I choose damage." I created my broken armour along with broken armoured wings. I flew into the air and straight at the front fortress. "Wait, you still have your father's orb right?" I stopped for a second. "Yeah, why?" He laughed. "Have you tried to use his dragon slayer magic?" I shook my head frustrated. "No, and I never want to be like him."

I then remembered something. "They got Yuma and the king. I need to find them don't I?" I flew over to the furthest vehicle. By the time I had made it there, I was by the school. I landed on the top and created my sword which was originally around my arm, like normal. Mages surrounded me laughing. "We destroyed you while you were in the Shadow Realm, what makes you think we won't again." I laughed. "You destroyed me? I took out a lot of you and what did you do to me?" I turned around, it was the woman with the sword. "Oh, I thought it was a mage that said that, I take it back." I laughed while feeling the back of my head. It was still bleeding. "Well, I don't want to waste too much time." The woman ran up to me and tried to get me with her sword. I blocked it with mine and pushed her back.

I created a second sword, which was pretty much the same except it was slightly smaller. I then charged at her, attacking her constantly with both swords. She was managing to block the attacks, yet wasn't able to get me. I then stumbled forward, losing my balance, I had tripped over a bit of out of place metal sheeting. She hit me with her sword's handle and launched me through the metal floor. I landed on my stomach on the floor below us. She jumped down and tried to stab me, but I teleported. I appeared behind her and stabbed her through the chest with my larger sword. Then with my smaller sword, I sliced her shoulder. "That was a good attempt, but you'll have to try harder." She began to walk herself forward, causing my sword to come out. "What the?"
