All I could do was stare up at the beast which continued to gaze aimlessly. How comes it hadn't started an attack yet? After all I thought I took down the man. The fact the beast remained still left a strange feeling in my chest, like I was worried that I hadn't taken out the enemy, even though they seemed to fully vanish in the attack. Footsteps appeared rapidly coming towards me and I span around, spotting a girl with long black hair running towards me. For a second, I focused on my surroundings again, attempting to locate the man who I hadn't confirmed if he was dead or not.

"Watch out!" A voice called out as I peered towards the source. In that moment, pain shot through my back as I was forced to the floor at immense speeds. I quickly rolled back to my feet and stood up, spinning around only to realise there was nothing there. Pain shot through my hip as I was hit there as well, so I quickly looked in that direction, only to catch a glimpse of someone who then disappeared. "You again? How did you survive?" I spoke to the man as I began to spin around slowly, trying to spot where he was gonna attack from. "What makes you think you even hit me?" They asked and I turned around, noticing they were stood still staring at me with a smirk. "Appear!" I called out as Kusanagi went back into its holster in my hand, and I quickly drew it. "I have a spell to try out, so now seems like the perfect time." I spoke to the man as I pointed the sword at him. Colour around us began to vanish as I took a deep breath, focusing all my energy around us. "Freeze!" I chanted, only to get no reaction from the opponent. I began to walk towards him slowly, moving my sword out to my side. I ran towards him and pierced my sword right through his stomach, tearing it out as I walked past him. I swung the blade at the air, causing the blood which had stained the blade to splash to the floor. I turned around and began to re-holster the sword. "Resume." I muttered as time began to return to normal, filling everything with vibrant colours again. The man coughed up blood as he turned to look at me, "that's a nifty trick" was all he could say between coughing the blood.

From his pocket fell an open capsule, and I noticed him beginning to heal. "Ready for round 2? Seeming as I know your tricks now it'll be much harder for you." The man spoke as he slowly turned to face me. He created a sphere of light in his hand then pointed it towards everyone else, causing me to frown. "What do you think you're doing?" I spoke angrily as he chuckled. "This fight is between you and me!" I called out to him as he launched the attack at the others. As quickly as I could, I sprinted over to them and placed myself between the attack and my teammates within the blink of an eye. I raised my arm and took a deep breath. "Negate!" I called as my arm was completely swallowed by the light. Pain shot through my arm as the attack vanished, causing me to notice my forearm had been completely torn off.

I stumbled backwards to the floor in pain, tensing up as I tried to stop myself from feeling anything. A constant flow of blood came from where my arm would've been, and didn't seem to stop whatsoever. Slowly, the wound seemed to be affecting me, everything was becoming hazier as I became dizzy. I fell backwards, only to be caught by someone who had ran behind me. No matter how much I tried, my eyelids felt heavy, like I could barely remain conscious. "It's ok Yuki, you've done more than enough for us." The familiar female voice spoke out to me as I tried to peer back at everyone. "But...I'm needed...I need to protect everyone." I continued as the girl chuckled. "Don't worry about it, get some rest." She continued as I slowly began to be lowered to the floor. "Please." I muttered as I gripped onto her collar. "I need to continue." I continued as I struggled to keep my breath.

I opened my eyes, all I could see was white for a second. It began to fade away to a normal look, with all the colours becoming much duller. It took a while but I slowly came to my senses, sitting up from the cold floor. I felt weird, and quickly glanced at my arm, noticing it was completely gone. "No way." I muttered as I looked around, there were people fighting not too far in the distance. The bleeding which had came from my arm seemed to have nearly stopped whilst I was out, slightly dripping now. I wasn't sure as to how long I was out for but I seemed to have gained only a slight bit of energy back.

Slowly, I began to climb back to my feet, spotting Kusanagi on the floor not too far away. I picked it up, slowly beginning to walk towards everyone else who was still fighting the man. "Where do you think you're going?" A girl spoke out to me, and I span around. "Ichika?" I spoke confused as I looked towards the girl. She was walking up to me, and took Kusanagi from me. "I don't understand you. You're clearly injured, why are you going to fight?" She asked me as I glanced towards everyone else. "Because they need me to fight with them." I muttered as she frowned.

"What, burden us? Because you're injured so you'll slow us down. And the fact of the matter is you already left us once... some people came to the realization you wouldn't come back, yet here you are. Do you not care for how we feel or something?" Ichika spoke angrily, and she seemed on the verge of crying. I took a deep breath, and wrapped my arm around her, pulling her to my chest. She was frozen out of shock, causing me to smile. "I understand what you're getting at, but it'll be worse if I don't help, because someone else could die." I tried to calm her down as she shook her head. "But..." She went to speak but I cut her off. "Ichika. I love you, so when I promise you I won't leave again, I mean it." My voice sounded as soft as I could make it as I felt her embrace me. "You idiot." She muttered as she started to cry, burying her face in my shirt. "I'll be fine."
