9 - Overloaded

I looked at my brothers body and then at his neck. Around it was a piece of string with a key attached to it. I got onto my knees and moved his hood down. I undone the clip on the string and pulled it off him. I grabbed a hold of both the orbs which had dropped from Nova and Akeno created a portal. I stepped away and the portal transported the 2 bodies away. I turned to Issei who had said my name. "I'm guessing you would want this book." I took the book off of Issei when he said that and smiled. "I'll look through it later, what is it?"

"It's a spell book he said as he looked towards the closing portal. It seemed they were using spells." I nodded and looked at the portal. "That would seem so," I then looked back towards him and continued talking "by the way, did you want the orbs which Nova dropped?" Issei shook his head at my question. "You might as well keep hold of them." Issei spoke to me as he turned away. "Well, I need to go quickly pick up some food from the shop." He stepped out the room along with Akeno leaving me and Rias.

"Look, I'm sorry I dragged everyone back into this mess." Rias smiled. "You were right though, this should end all fallen angel issues in the area." I then looked behind me. "I need your help with something." Rias nodded. "Go on." She said as she sat down. "I pulled my shirt off and turned away from Rias, showing her my back. "Are my wings there?" She shook her head in shock. She then placed her hand on my right shoulder blade and was followed by pain. I moved my back away. "What was that?"

"Your wings, they were ripped off." I instantly became upset. "They will grow back? Right?" Rias hesitated like she was clueless. "I don't know." I slipped my shirt back on over my head. "If you want, just manifest them using your armour." I sighed. "I know but what if I can't just manifest them? I'd be done for and can't run away." I then thought back to all the fights, I couldn't really think about when it had happened, everything seemed hazy in my thoughts. Then I remembered something and looked towards Rias. "We aren't done." She looked at me shocked. "Freed, the exorcist. We didn't get him during the fights." I continued as she shook her head. "No, I, sure he wouldn't mess with us." Rias tried to reassure me. "Well anyway, we'll just be on the lookout."

After a while of talking, Yuma walked in and Rias left. "Hey Yuma." I spoke as she sat on my bed next to me. She lent up against me smiling. "I'm glad we're together again, it's been too long." I smiled. "It has hasn't it." She then looked me in the eyes. "Yuki, I'm really sorry about what happened in the past, I promise I'll look after you, and make sure you're ok." I laughed slightly. "Honestly, it's perfectly fine as it is now." I tried to back her down from whatever she was going to do. It didn't work. "I will still look after you, make sure I'm close at almost all times." I blushed as she hugged me. "Don't you miss me?"

"Oh I do." I said as I felt my cheeks burn up. She then bought her head back up and hugged me with her arms around my neck. She rested her head on the side of mine and I felt awkward. I didn't know what to do. "I want us to be how we were before, young and oblivious." She whispered in my ear as she let go and sat up. She looked towards the clock. "Oh it's time for us to get ready for bed, or at least I think so." Yuma left my room so I changed clothes into pyjamas and closed my door. I slipped into bed and slowly fell asleep.

<Time skip>

I woke up to the sun beaming on my face. I stretched and then noticed an arm on my side. I turned backwards in shock and noticed it was Yuma. I instantly shot out of bed with a blush on my face. Yuma bought her face up from the covers. "Morning, what's the time?" I frowned. "Come on, why are you in my bed?" I shouted at her as she smiled. "Because, I said I'd protect you." I sighed. "You still should give me some privacy." She smiled. "You think I'd take you seriously when your blushing? It seemed you were perfectly fine." She then got up and I instantly turned around when I noticed she was wearing nothing. "Yep, I could've guessed you were naked." She laughed again.
