The Forgotten Dragon - Highschool DxD FanFiction

II - 8 - Left Out

"Broken armour." I began to be surrounded by shards of armour which floated slightly above my skin and clothes. There were small gaps in between each shard, but not large enough for an attack to go through. The turrets on the fortresses began to load themselves and glow again. I caused my shield to grow larger and waited for a few seconds. I then launched myself towards it as the beam drew closer. It tore right into my shield, and began to push me back. I poured all my strength into the shield but it still cracked slowly. It then shattered and the beam came right at me. I stood in the way so the attack wouldn't get near anyone else. "Diffuse." I called out as I launched myself through the attack, using random bits of energy which had dispersed as a step to launch myself further. The attack then died down when I got halfway to the closest fortress. I created circles on my palms and feet which launched energy out, allowing me to boost forward faster towards the fortress. I eventually stopped as I made my way there, and grabbed ahold of the metalwork on the outside. I then jumped to a pipe and tried to create my wings. It didn't work and eventually, I began to lose grip.

Each finger slowly let go, causing me to fall. Everyone else began to launch attacks at the fortress whilst I crashed towards the ground. "How could I forget I don't have my wings?" I scolded myself as my dragon laughed. "I could always give you my dragon wings, not that they will help you, you're too small." I frowned. "You always lighten the mood." I crashed into the ground, pain shot through my shoulder blades and my armour shattered. I laid staring up towards the fortress as it began to litter with explosions from attacks. There was then a massive explosion in the middle, along with Issei's beam tearing into the ground. The fortress then toppled forward, tumbling towards on top of me. Metal sheets and structure sprinkled around me, launching dust and dirt around. I began to limp away from the fortress, I had injured my leg during the crash landing. I turned slightly to look at the fortress and braced for impact. Everything around me turned black. "Yuki!" I heard people shouting my name along with crashes surrounding me.

I felt my stomach, pain shot through me. I then looked at my fingers. From what I could tell in the darkness, I was impaled, and heavily bleeding. I felt around my wound, a large metal pipe stuck straight through me. I squirmed about, trying to call out. I couldn't talk, like I was being silenced by something covering my mouth. I then caused my glove to reappear, the orbs lit up the darkness. I looked around. I was almost covered in metal, like I was in a large cocoon. I tried to reach towards above me. I began to slide metal sheets and beams around. Eventually, a small area of sky appeared and I pushed everything further. A pain then shot across my wrist. I had slit it on a bit of metal and blood was already heavily dripping. I created my sword and placed  it behind me, trying to cut into the pipe. It didn't work, I was stuck. I then watched as people flew around overhead, searching for me. I then caused my sword to go away and tried to pulled myself away from the pipe. It didn't work so I caused energy to disperse from me. It surrounded me and then began to explode, launching all the metal around like shrapnel. I was eventually completely revealed and in the open. Surrounded by smoke, Rias and Issei rushed down to me.

I was pulled up, blood dripping fast down my clothes, staining them as the pipe continued to stay attacked to me. The explosion had ripped the pipe out of the rubble, but left it impaled into me. I took a deep breath as I tried to pull it out. I couldn't, rather it only seemed to hurt even worse as the blood flow became stronger. I turned to Issei. "Can you pull it out?" He looked at me worried. "It will hurt, and could kill you." I smiled. "Don't worry, I have one of these." I pulled out a Phoenix tear, and gave it to him. He then created his boosters and stepped behind me. He grabbed onto the pipe and used his boosters to push him away. The pipe slowly came out from my stomach, the spikes at the end disappearing inside of me. It then completely exited me, leaving a hole going right through me. I stepped forward then stumbled to the floor, Issei ran up to me and used the tear on me. It then caused all my wounds to rapidly heal.I looked myself up and down while stretching. "It always feels strange." I sighed.

I tried to create wings, but I couldn't as I had forgotten I didn't have any. "I can always give you dragon wings." I rolled my eyes. "But they would just seem strange to use." "Too late, it's better than nothing after all." Glowing spikes of light shout out of my back. They grew larger and brighter and then the purple faded, revealing large majestic looking black wings. I opened them, they were larger than my original wings. I took off using them and almost lost balance. I then looked up, the fortresses had all moved, and made their way to the school. I began to fly towards them but was stopped by Issei. "Come on, site this one out." I sighed as I waited for them to fly past. They did and I followed after them. I created a shield in my left hand as I wrapped myself in a lightweight armour.

A beam then tore right into Issei, but he managed to out-strength it. The attack diffused and he charged towards the fortress, aiming right for its leg. He launched an orb forward which turned into a beam and obliterated the fortresses leg. He then threw a sword towards the ground and a blond haired kid, Kiba, caught it. He then pointed it up and sliced straight through the front of the fortress as it fell down. The vehicle began to explode, launching shrapnel everywhere. A large bit shot at Rias, but I shot in the way and blocked it with my shield. "Don't get involved." Rias commanded as she flew off. "No thank you then." I then floated back. Another fortress came stomping towards us. It had a different turret. It began to spin, and then out from it came hundreds of small orbs, all shooting randomly towards us. They all exploded when they touched something. One came directly at me, but Kiba jumped in the way and swiftly cut through it. It exploded as 2 smaller pieces whilst more came at us through the smoke. I threw forward my shield, causing them all to explode. Kiba then launched himself off the shield and away towards the fortress leaving me alone.

Just want to apologise for not uploading frequently anymore, I'm working on a project so I have no time, it's to do with another book I'm writing, a mixup of anime's all in one. I just don't know how to start if, of course I don't. Well, here's an update for you all, hopefully I can continue writing this book and the next at the same time, or at least give myself a schedule.
