Chapter 27

You, Roman, Olivia and Shelley are sitting in the dining room, around the big table. You sit next to Shelley, and Roman sits opposite of you. Olivia sits at the end of the table.

Food is front of you, but you just stick it with your fork. Everything just feels bad right now. You don't want to look at Roman, you are still angry at him.  You aren't really happy, you can just feel that something is growing inside of your tummy.

Olivia puts her wine glass on the table and asks:

"Should we go through the motions at least?"

You just raise your gaze for a second, but then just go back to stare at your food.

"How was everyone's day?", Olivia asks happily and puts her hands under her chin, leaning against the table.

"Every breath, a gift", Roman says sarcastically and raises his glass.

You just roll your eyes sadly, you don't even know how the things are going to be with you two.

"Where did you two disappear to, girls?", Olivia asks smiling at you two.

"Why is she being fake nice to me. It would be better if she wouldn't be talking to me at all", you think, but then just look at her smiling a fake smile to her.

"I took the bus with Y/N", Shelley writes smiling happily. Then she looks at you happily.

You smile to her the best smile you can.

"Seriously?", Roman asks raising his eyebrows.

Shelley nods smiling.

"I'm sorry. What was that?", Olivia asks smile fading from her face.

"I took the bus with Y/N", Shelley repeats smiling.

"Quit being so goddam literal", Olivia sighs and looks around confused.

"Shelley darling. Why on earth would you take the bus anywhere? And without my permission...", Olivia asks.

"Give her a break. Jesus, I don't even know how to do that", Roman says and laughs.

"Well, Y/N helped me a little", Shelley says.

"I'm sorry. Is this a joke to you?", Olivia asks to Roman and glares at him.

You just don't know why is it such a big deal.

Then Olivia notices the earrings.

"Oh, Shelley darling, earrings. What have you done to yourself?", Olivia asks.

You just stare at Olivia confused, like why the hell she is acting like this.

Shelley starts looking a little sad.

"You were with her, you should have do something", Olivia says to you sighing.

You just don't know what to say, when she is staring at you.

"Let her out of this", Roman says looking at Olivia annoyed.

Olivia just glares at you.

"Did you have any hand on this?", Olivia asks to Roman.

"No", Roman says and shakes his head.

"I'm simply perplexed. You were with her", Olivia says looking disappointed at you and Shelley.

You want to defense Shelley, but you are just too scared of Olivia. Both, you and Roman are just staring at your own plates.

"You want to make a mockery of yourself? You would connive to demean yourself", Olivia says to Shelley.
