Prologue 2/2: A New Home

Y/N's POV

All you see is darkness. You don't know where you are. You hear screams.

Y/N: "Dad please stop! I promise I'll be good!"

You look over and see a memory of Tai punching you in the ribs. As you tear up, the memory scatters and is replaced with another.

Ruby and Yang: "We're sorry... brother... please forgive us..."

Y/N: "It's okay. I know you two don't want to, but please, I can take it for you."

You remember Summer's words.

Summer: "Protect them Y/N."

You see your worst fear. Tai beats Yang, Ruby, and Summer until they're no longer moving.

Tai: "You abandoned them Y/N. You coward!"

You scream.

Y/N: "Make it stop!"

You hear a roar in the distance, but before you could turn to look at it, you start to see light.

You wake up

Y/N (thoughts): 'What? Where...?"

Y/N: "What happened to me?"

???: "Finally you're awake!"

You look over and see a blonde woman sitting in a chair next to you and realize you're in a bed.

Y/N: "Who are you!? Where am I!? Please don't hurt me!"

???: "Shh shh shh, it's okay, I'm not gonna hurt you. My little brother and I found you, but before we could get to you, you collapsed on the road." You see a little boy clutching her leg. "We brought you to the hospital. Introduce yourself Jaune."

Jaune: "H-hi, my name is Jaune Arc."

???: "And my name is Saphron Arc. What's your name?" (This is presumably before she got married to the woman we see in volume 6 and still lives at home)

Y/N: "...I'm Y/N..." you said still a little scared.

Saphron: "Well Y/N, why don't you tell us what you were doing all by yourself? Where's your family?"

You were in between speaking and crying, but then a doctor walked in.

Doctor: "Ah, you're awake! You've been out for three days young man. Ms. Arc, may I speak to you in private?"

Saphron goes with the doctor as you sit there with Jaune.

Jaune: "So Y/N... I've never seen silver eyes before. And your hair is black and red too! You look pretty cool!"

Y/N: "Yeah... my sister and I both have silver eyes and this hair..." you say, saddened because you remembered your dream.

Saphron's POV

Doctor: "Well, the x-rays are back. We found multiple healed rib fractures, a remodeled fracture to his skull, and arm and leg fractures. After doing a check on his body, we found multiple scars on his torso, upper arms, and the upper parts of his legs. There are also some fresh wounds to his skin and bones that couldn't be more than a week old. I don't know what exactly happened to him, but whoever did this to him put him through hell, but seemed like they wanted to keep them hidden, probably from the police or anyone who'd ask about them. The oldest injuries are about a year old and the freshest are a few days."

Saphron: "Oh my Oum... How can someone do that to a poor child!"

Doctor: "That's not all. He's also slightly malnourished, but like the injuries, just enough to hide it."
