Chapter 32: The Days Pass

Weiss's POV

After hearing that her father wanted to see her, Weiss walks slowly through the Schnee mansion.  Her large, yet empty home only made her feel more alone.  As she's walking, she runs into her younger brother, Whitley.

Whitley:  "Good afternoon sister.  A pleasure to see you out of your room for a change." He says happily.

Weiss:  "Hello Whitley."  She walks past him, then turns around.  "You're in a cheery mood today."

Whitley:  "Klein made crepes for breakfast."

She isn't buying it.

Weiss:  "What do you want?"

Whitley:  "I heard father shouting with someone in his study earlier."

Weiss:  "Mother?"

Whitley:  "No... she's already drinking in the garden.  I think it was a man."

Weiss's mother had been rather carefree since Weiss was little.  She knew that given her father's personality, it was justified.

Whitley:  "I just wanted to warn you.  I heard he had asked to speak with you."

Weiss:  "I'll be fine."

Whitley:  "I know you will.  You're strong, like Winter."

Weiss:  "You never liked Winter." She says confused.

Whitley:  "True.  But you can't deny her resolve."  He says with a strange look on his face.

Weiss:  "You... seem different."

Whitley:  "And you've been gone.  I'll have you know I didn't stop growing while you were away at Beacon.  Anyway, good luck with father."  He starts walking away.

Weiss:  "Thank you."

She walks towards her father's office door.  She can hear her father arguing with someone, a familiar voice.

Ruby's POV
Ruby's Dream

Y/N:  "LONGINUS SMASHER!"

In that moment, Ruby felt all of the pain in Y/N's body.  She sees blood spurting out of her brother's body as he's releasing this attack.

Ruby:  "Make it stop!"

In reality

Ruby wakes up.  It's dawn.  After a while, the rest of the team wakes up.

Jaune:  "Hey Ruby, you alright?  You were tossing and turning in your sleep."

Ruby:  "I'm alright Jaune.  Thanks for your concern."

Jaune:  "No problem.  What are friends for?"

They pack up and hit the road.  Ruby's holding the map and is trying to read it.

Ruby:  "So the next town is...  Uh-huh!  Uh-huh...". She pauses.  "We're lost!"

Jaune:  "We're not lost!  The next town is Shion.  My family used it visit it all the time."

Ruby:  "Oh yeah!  Don't you have, like, four sisters?"

Jaune:  "Uh... seven..." He says dejected.  "But after Y/N became part of the family, I at least had a brother!"
