Chapter 17: Breaking Point

Jaune's POV

Team JNPR's asleep in their dorm.  Their mission to shadow the sheriff of a village outside the kingdom is in the morning.  Jaune gets a call on his scroll.

Jaune:  "Wha...?"  He sees its from Y/N and answers it.  "Y/N...?  Don't you know-"

The call is mostly static and Y/N hangs up after a few seconds.  He puts down his scroll and goes back to sleep.

Timeskip, Morning

The team is walking to their airship while discussing the call.

Jaune:  "I don't know guys, it's just weird."

Nora:  "It was probably a butt dial!"

Ren:  "Nora's right.  Y/N's with Team RWBY, and all of them are able to handle themselves."

Pyrrha:  "Don't worry Jaune.  They're alright."

As soon as Pyrrha says this, they hear sirens go off in the city.  They then hear the sirens in the school go off.

Jaune:  "Change of plans!  We're going!"  The team heads to the airship and Jaune turns to Ren.  "Don't worry Ren.  We'll make it out to that village another time."

The airship departs for the city.

Y/N's POV

You and Team RWBY are surrounded by Grimm.  Beowolves, Ursai, Boarbatusks, even some Nevermores, Death Stalkers, And King Taijitus.

Y/N:  "Alright girls, show me what you're made of."

RWBY:  "Right!"

The five of you charge into battle, with you wielding Svartur.  You don't know what Ddraig meant by using his power, but you'd better figure it out soon.

Ruby becomes surrounded by Beowolves, but digs her scythe into the ground and kicks all of the Grimm in the circle around her.

Yang jumps on an Ursa's head and bounces off into the air.  She fires shot after shot at the Grimm chasing her, only to be grounded by some Nevermores.

Blake stabs a Beowolf in the head and then shoots other Grimm coming her way.

Weiss is slashing a path through Grimm one by one, using her glyphs to get into optimal position for large dust-fueled attacks.

The King Taijitu is about to attack Ruby, when she heard a shot in the distance.

Nora:  "Nora Smash!"

Nora comes and swings her hammer down on the snake grimm's head, slamming it into the ground.  She's then joined by the rest of Team JNPR.

Jaune:  "Alright, who's first?" He says as a giant Ursa comes his way.

Y/N:  "Jaune!  Remember your training!"

Jaune:  "I got it!  I've dealt with your kind before."

Jaune unleashed a flurry of slashes on the Ursa.  When he's done, he looks back up to it and it falls over.

Y/N (thoughts):  'Good.'

Just then, Sun and Neptune show up.

Y/N:  "Oh no."

Sun:  "Nobody move!  Junior detectives!"

Neptune:  "We got badges and everything, so you know it's official.  Oh and Y/N!  You ass!"

Sun:  "Yeah man!  That old guy Azazel worked our asses off!  We know you had something to do with that!"

Neptune:  "We didn't get to do cool shit yesterday!  Just organized boxes in the office!"
