the sound of your phone ringing causes you to jump, but you instantly relax as you see your girlfriends name on your screen.
she went to malivore to save Landan while you stayed at the school to fight triad and help Josie.
"Hope...hey" you sigh, "are you okay?"
"yeah, yeah...i'm fine"
you can feel your body relax at the sound of her voice and you instantly find yourself smiling slightly, "Josie's okay. you were right, your blood saved her"
"i knew it would" she laughs before turning serious again, "y/n, i have to do something and i know you're going to hate it"
"what is it?"
"i'm the answer to all of this! i can solve everything, but if..when i do it, no one from school will remember me, including you"
"Hope, what are you talking about?" you question her as you stand up from your bed and run your hands through your hair, something you do when you are stressed.
"malivore is Landon's dad and i'm the only one who can stop him, but everyone who goes into malivore get's forgotten"
"you're joking, please don't do this! there has to be another way"

you cut Hope off, "no, you aren't doing it. let someone else do it. Hope, you can't" you say while your voice begins to crack as you hold back your tears.

you hear something in the background before Hope tells you she has to go. she tells you that Alaric is taking care of all her files and she just wanted to hear your voice one last time.
"y/n, i love you"
you sigh, "i love you too"
before you could say anything else, Hope hangs up. the tears finally fall from your eyes as you throw your phone across your room. all these different emotions were flowing through you right now and you couldn't handle it.
you quickly leave your room and run downstairs asking everyone you bumped into where Alaric was. when someone finally gave you an answer, you were there in seconds.
"Alaric" you yell as you run towards him, but once you reach him you couldn't remember what you wanted to tell him.
"y/n? what's going on? what's wrong?"
"i don't know...i can't remember"
