everything happened so fast. one minute you were arguing with your boyfriend and the next you were lying on the floor trying not to bleed to death.
your boyfriend had been abusive in the past, but you never thought he would stab you. the knife was still in your stomach when your apartment door opened showing your next door neighbours.
"we heard a lot of screaming and thou- oh my god, are you okay? what happened?"
"call for help...please" you managed to say through breaths, the pain you were feeling was excruciating.
they don't waste any time as they call for an ambulance and police and not even five minutes later you can hear the sirens approaching. your boyfriend had left after the incident, but he's probably long gone if he heard the sirens too.
everything felt like it was moving in slow motion as black dots slowly covered your vision. the voices of your neighbours sounded very distant despite them sitting next to you, one of them holding your hand.
the door to your apartment flew open as two paramedics rushed in soon followed by police officers. you saw a familiar face as your eyes locked with your ex-boyfriends, Jake.
"y/n? oh god, what happened?"
"Jake, it's...him"
that was the last thing you said before the blackness consumed you. you awoke a few hours later in the hospital with Jake sat in the chair next to your bed, his head in his hands.
"Jake?" you managed to croaked out with a raspy voice.
"y/n, thank god you're okay!" Jake said as he stood up from his seat, "i uh, just came to make sure you were okay... we're going to need you to give a statement once you're ready"
