It's been already one month since Zac and I have started dating. Things have been going pretty smoothly and fine. Zac took me on several dates which I found very cute to be honest. We went to the park where we talked a lot. We also went shopping and we went to find an apartment for him. It was very fun and exciting to go on dates with him. He taught me new things. I remember him telling me that he wanted to be a singer. He told me a few things about his career plan.
So, right now we are currently bunking classes to go meet his grandmother who is ill. I never thought that I would ever bunk classes but it is fun to go with Zac.
"We are almost there." he says.
"Okay." I answer while looking through the window. Zac borrowed Erik's car so here we are, travelling peacefully.
"That's my song." I exclaim happily as Selena Gomez's Love you like a love song starts playing.
"Seriously?" he asks while looking at me with a disgusted face.
"What!? It's a nice song." I pout.
"No, it's a dumb song."
"No, it's a nice song."
"Nope, dumb one."
"No, it's a good one!" I keep defending and then we both end up laughing.
Soon I see a narrow dirt-path leading to a tiny red-brick cottage. The cottage is so small that it looks more like a doll's house than a human dwelling. The bricks it is built of were old and crumbly and very pale red. It has a grey slate roof and one small chimney, and there are two little windows at the front. Each window is no larger than a sheet of tabloid newspaper and there is clearly no upstairs to the place. On either side of the path there is a wilderness of nettles and blackberry thorns and long brown grass, An enormous oak tree stood overshadowing the cottage. It's massive spreading branches seemed to be enfolding and embracing the tiny building, and perhaps hiding it as well from the rest of the world.
As we get out of the car, Zac walks us towards the small cottage where I suddenly find a black dog running at full speed towards us. I'm about to shout when Zac greets the animal with open arms.
"Hello, buddy." Zac says while petting it who keeps on howling happily. Thank god this one does not purr or else I would have died.
"Wooof! Woof!" the dog barks happily while wagging its long tail. He plays with the dog for sometimes when suddenly the animal's attention fall on me. He starts to approach me and I start backing away. Digesting his pointy canines and big mouth, I don't want to be his meal yet.
"He won't do anything." Zac says and I doubt that.
"Are you sure?" I ask nervously.
"Look, buddy, this is Scarlette." Zac says to the dog and the dog starts wagging its tail again while looking at me. What the? He looked dangerous for a while.
"Wow, seems that you are really fond of dogs." I say and he nods as he continues to scratch the dog. After that, I find him walking towards a small tap set on the ground where he washes his hands.
"Come." he says and I look at the thickness of those bricks which were laid one at a time, perhaps on a fine spring day. I let my eyes wander the roughness and how each is so very straight. This house was made with love, that's for sure. Along with him, I enter the house and a sudden fresh air welcomes us.
"Hello." an old lady's voice startles us.
"Hey grandma." Zac says running towards a petite old woman who seems to be in her late fifties. Her hair is already white and she has a wrinkled face but yet beautiful features. I look carefully at her and then I notice how she has the same beautiful eyes like Zac but yet hers seem to be of a deeper blue-ish. I wonder if her eyes were purplish like him before. She seems not in really good form for sure as she constantly leans on her walking stick. I notice how her hands seem very old and dry. Her veins are obviously very visible and the skin is already wrinkled. I frown at the sight.
