"Hey guys." Zac greets and everyone in the room turns around to meet eyes with him. Wow..He already caught the whole audience. There is an invisible celebrity glow around him which makes him shine everytime.
"Happy birthday!" Everyone exclaims while looking all happy and excited. Our hands separate immediately from each other's hold as soon as a big crowd is formed around Zac. As such, they snatch him away from me. I suddenly feel a pang of hurt. Maybe, it's because we are in complete different worlds. I'm the timid introvert while he is the handsome extrovert. My lips secretly form into a small frown. I walk a bit away from the now huge circle of people. He sure is the centre of everyone's attention. I think again. Everyone comes and wishes him and I won't deny the little pang of jealousy I get each time a female hugs him. I make my way to grab a drink where I find Erik.
"Hey!" Erik says to me, as he also takes a drink. He is accompanied by Max.
"Hello." I smile.
"You're looking pretty tonight." he says flirtily.
"Thank you." I say politely. I don't like his attitude towards me. I feel uncomfortable.
"Hola, Scarlette." Max smiles at me.
"Hi Max." I smile. I'm much more comfortable with Max than Erik. I don't know why but I feel like Erik is trying to hit on me each time. I'm friends with Max now. I kind of talked to him several times when we met at school and he seemed to be very cool and sweet to hang out with. I learnt about him and Zac being best friends since childhood. Max is like a mother to Zac. I really love their relationship.
"All good?" he asks and I nod.
"They stole him away from you, huh?" he teases and I giggle.
"Yeah, they did." I say, faking a small pout.
"Haha. It's always been like that, don't worry. He would always ditched me too." he says while rolling his eyes.
"Oh.." I say.
"Don't worry, I'm here for you." Erik says and I roll my eyes.
"Shut up, Erik." I say and he laughs.
"I really like your attitude." he says.
"Don't drool over her then." Zac says from behind as he pulls me by the waist.
"Speak of the devil." Max mutters.
"Hey baby." Zac says.
"What?" I say, annoyingly.
"What's with that attitude?" he asks why slapping me slowly on my butt. Shithead.
"Why don't you keep hugging the other females like you were doing a while before." I say, drinking my soda.
"Okay. I'm out of here." Erik says laughingly.
"Yeah me too." Max says and then whispers in my ears, "Scarlette, don't go too hard on him." he says and I giggle.
Once he leaves, Zac says,
"Yo, what the hell was that?" Zac asks, raising his left eyebrow which he cut in the middle. I mean who the hell cuts their eyebrow in the middle.
"What do you mean?" I ask, staring at his straight thick eyebrow.
"Why did Max whisper in your ears?" He says while looking a bit too possessive.
"Duh, he was just telling me not to go hard on you." I roll my eyes.
"Since when are you friends with him?" he asks.
"Well, we share the same class. So we talked a bit." I say.
"Yeah, whatever. Don't do this 'Hihihi' again with another man." he says annoyingly.
