Sunny days

Nightmare ran excited through the forest. He had a book with him so his brother would believe his lie that the time he venture into the forest was to read in peace. Dream understand why his brother would go, but he would be extremely worried if he was gone longer that he said. Nightmare jumped over a fallen tree and ducked under some branches. not long after he was in the all known clearing.

He had met up with her there for months at this time. he was always existed to get away and just be with you for hours on end. it would could just simple things like talking, reading books and explore the forest. coming to the clearing made him realize she was sitting under one of the trees. a small picnic basket next to her.

Nightmare felt himself grinning when he looked at her. the warm fuzzy feeling he always got around you came back. He still had no idea what the feeling was, but it felt nice. "Hey y/n!" Nightmare created while walking over to so he could sit down, getting a hello back. "Any special plans today, or are we just gonna lazy around under the tree?" A sweet sugary filled the air that slowly slipped out from the basket. Nightmare really hoped he could have whatever was penetrating that smell soon.

"It's a surprise" here eyes shined as she said it before jumping over the small stream. A quick flash of memory came up in Nightmares mind as he jumped over to her. On only the first week of meting y/n they decided to cross the river to some berry bushes on the other side. Somehow, Nightmare miscalculated the length and slipped when he had jumped over. ending over with him falling into the river and getting soaked to the bone. it was the first time he had heard her laughter, and he found out that he loved making her laugh.

Walking toward the destination was fluid with small talk. Nightmare didn't have as much stories to tell like y/n had. He wasn't as interesting, the only tales he could tell always involve his brother in some way. he steered away from the depressing ones. Small talks were just easier. favorite color, favorite time at day, favorite book, favorite sweet, the list of questions just kept rolling in. It was something he could answer instead to go through all the bad memories to answer.

He looked around to see if he could pinpoint where they were heading. they walked away from the town, from everyone, and ventured on an old path. Nature had not been kind and it was hard to even notice it if you didn't focus hard enough. they had ventured over it one time when they went on a walk so they wasn't just sitting underneath a tree day inn and day out. they had stumbled on a dear in another clearing. both of their eyes shined as they watched the graceful creature. the sun hit it perfect and made it look like it was glowing.

a hand were suddenly placed in his as it began to drag it forward. "Hurry up or we are gonna miss it" she was so excited to show him whatever it was she was planing. Nightmare couldn't help the small smile that creep up on him. "Alright, alright, I'm coming." The two of them began to climb up a small hill before they made it on top. He immediately noticed the old collapsed building near the end of a cliff. Y/n happily walked toward the building with a curious Nightmare.

It was an old cottage, the roof seems do have fallen in and looking through the big crumbled wall where the door was supposed to stay confirmed his suspicions. knowing that the roof would troubled down on them, seeing that it already had done that, made him walk inn to where you have placed a blanket down. he made his way over and sat next to her, he would have said the blanket was a little bit too close to the edge. Noticing the confused look he was given you made you point your head toward the wall that had been taken down with probably the crumbling of the cliff. which didn't make him feel safer siting this close.

looking up made him choke on his own none existing breathe. the view was beautiful. he could see the forest, the spot they always met in, all the places they venture, the town and the tree with the golden and dark apples. it all looked so small. a distant memory far away. he could see longer than he could on the top of the hill with the three. mountains and distant forest unexplored.

He was pretty sure his eyes was star shape. he was barely capable to tear his eyes away. "Beautiful, right" his eyes dashed a moment toward her before darting back to study the landscape. "This is my second hideout, except from the clearing we met at. Thought I might show you the most beautiful view around here." Nightmare just stared stunned forward. it was so quiet, just the two of them, everyone else a distant memory, no one to harass him.
