Wake up

the atmosphere in the room had eased a bit. to scared to move Nightmare back to the castle while being in an unstable state made mostly everyone settle in the living room for the night. waiting until Nightmare was awake or his condition more stable to make the next move. Dust and Killer had venture back. seeing that having equal amount of both party would probably make it less tense. it were soon midnight and no one was asleep. sometime sending glances at the other party. everyone worrying about different things. Some had stretched on their limbs by walking a bit or settling down in another location. Blue disappearing into the kitchen to get some leftover tacos he had made earlier that day.

Y/n was the only one not moving from her spot next to Nightmare. hand still holding his. she had barely spoken, moved or eaten. Dream had tried to hold a conversation with her, but he only got short answer back. the house was left in silence. the only sound breaking through was the creek of the floorboard then someone moved their sitting position. Blues head nodding down before jolting upright, trying his best to stay awake but eventually failing. the girl was replacing her head on the couch. . her hand still connected with Nightmares. His heavy breathing filling the room.

Dreamed looked over at her, sitting at the floor with his back leaning up against the couch opposite of her. Ink had zoned out while staring at the floorboard. Error had his arms crossed and eye closed, but Dream knew he wasn't asleep. Cross was focused on the TV. a Napstaton movie playing with its volume low. he didn't seem to like the movie, but he guess anything was better than staring into nothingness. Dream focus fell back on the girl. her sad expression still prominent. "Hey... Can I ask you a question?" he dipped his toe into the water. wanting to get some answers that he knew he would never get form his brother.

"How did you and my brother meet?" he asked after she gave a weak nod. it was quiet except the quiet sound from the TV. "...we were friends" she started. her voice small and weak. like she had been crying for hours. "We stumbled on each other one day... back in Dreamtale... when we both have had a bad day." A small smile replaced the frown on her face. "just two lonely souls finding comfort in each others present. we began meeting at that place every day... our little escape from reality." she had closed her eyes while telling her little story.

A part of Dream didn't want to ask the next question, but he really wanted answers. "Did something happen between you... back in the days?" she froze up and when she didn't speak he continued instead. "there was just one day he looked so... depressed. he had looked so happy for a long period. I guess it is a part of my fault that I never asked or confronted him..." she said something. he saw her lips moving but no sound came out. "I'm sorry. I didn't quite get that" he still had a mild smile on his face that he hoped would comfort her and ease her mind. "I died" her voice was just notable if you listen closely. stiffening dream as the words reach him. her smile gone and her hand having a stronger grip on his brothers hand. he threw in a quiet 'sorry' before deciding that speaking more may be a good idea

the answer swirling around in his head. he should have guessed that. one of the first thing she had asked him was what happened to his brother. not being alive at that part would explain why she didn't know about its destructing. the question on who she was brought back was buzzing around in his head. still not having an explanation. but now he new quiet well why Nightmare had hunted her does, why he had looked so down in Dreamtale...

Morning came around and Blue had to excuse himself as he had some patrolling to do. his bone brow knitted into a worried expression when he came home later in the day and still saw everyone in the living room. everyone discussing between their own group. the girl barely awake. eye closing only to jolt up again. something slowly running through her hair made her eyes fluster oven. wondering when she fell asleep. her eyes focusing on whats in front of here. only to meet a blue eye light looking weakly surrounded by darkens. a weak 'morning' got her mind back on track as her eyes tiredness went away and got replaced by a new energy. "Nightmare!" she couldn't help herself as she jumped up and engulfed him in a hug. head nuzzling into his neck.

the other skeletons in the room turn their attention away from their conversation. "Thank god you're awake" she sobbed into his neck. a chuckle was heard through ribs before he cringed. "Feeling good enough to move?" Error was suddenly at their side. Nightmare glared at him as Y/n parted the hug before his eyes slowly glided over the room. "Let's get moving" he said while slowly getting up. Cross tossed him his jacket as Error opened a portal. The girl were about to go through the portal before a force hit her side. "I WILL MISS YOU HUMAN. I HOPE YOU WILL COME AND VISIT US" Blue cried into the sides of her jumper. squeezing her in a hug in the progress. "I promise Blue" she washed out. before biding her farewell and going through the portal
