It was peaceful. Like it was supposed to be. The two of them hanging out at their meeting place. a place that was usually filled with laughter and chatter if the two of them were not reading in the comfort in each others present. but now isn't the time for that. at this point it seemed like that peaceful time would never come back. Nightmare had been quiet for some time. thinking through how he wanted to lay it out for them. the surrounding forest held an eerie silence of the one Y/n was used two. now it only was the sound of the small river that broke the silent in the void she used to call home.

"Where will I start..." Nightmare asked himself. the four tentacle on his back twitched uncomfortable. taking his hand and giving it a reassuring squeeze made him visible relax. the worry that have clouded his mind seemed to calm down. "I guess this mess started up at the old house at the day when you... when you." his sentence quickly dried up. she could feel her heart sinking at the mention of the old house. A place that would be burned into her memory as her last moment in this timeline. "When I died" it sounded so weak, but it couldn't be helped. dying is a scary thought and she feel lucky being brought to life again.

"yeah" he coughed before starting strong again. "I felt so broken when I lost you. You were one of the only one I cared about. my first and only friend" He looked up toward the sky used to be. no it was only a blank canvas. small bits and pieces floated around, filling the emptiness a bit. "I got lost in my depression. All the hardship that became later when I could just forget when I was hanging out with you came crashing down." Tears threatened to fall. he hadn't let himself be this vulnerable in a while. his dear human friend was the only one he had ever let himself get emotional in front of, and it felt good getting this thing of his chest after all the years.

His thumb ran over her hand that was still gently holding his. he felt her body heat radiating from. "I wanted to show that I could take care of the Golden apple... but it all went wrong." the sky darkened and I watched as the tree became full of only dark apples, no golden apples left. People tried to attack me, kill me for what happen and I... I ate them, I ate all of the dark apples." Nightmare wondered what the new sound could be only to realize it was his own bones rattling. his grip tighten and he became tens to calm down the rattling. "My mind went blank, filled with negative thoughts and emotion and I killed them. I killed all of them, then I destroyed this place bit by bit." Hands quickly grasping his skull as the memories he tried to suppress came flooding back.

"I woke up alone here, right here we are sitting. Everything was gone. Nativity controlled me for the longest time. I met Error and joined him ruining more life. It was just an endless cycle of destroying and killing. JUST KILLING AND DESTROYING!" the rant was cut sort by two arms that went around his waist and pulled him closer. "Its okay, everything's fine" he couldn't recognize the voice. his mind racing. Y/n... It was Y/n voice. she was alive and well. she was hugging him, comforting him. his head leaned closer into her chest where her heart was placed. a calm beating sound was heard and if he concentrated more, he could her the soft humming of his soul. her body was warm and alive, not cold and live less. she was alive, not dead.

his cheekbones felt wet and Nightmare quickly realized he was crying. Not caring right now while he quickly hugged her back. hands tightening on the back of her shirt for dear life while he just let out all the built out emotions. "Everything's fine." he whispered to himself between sobs, and he fully believed it.
