It's still early morning, but Hifumi's and Taka's antics are exhausting. I guess I still have a whole day to get through, though. I'll find someone who's calm and sensible to talk to. I wonder where Sakura is?

Sakura was in the Physics lab.

"Do you want to hang out for a while?" After talking my way out of exercising with Sakura, we began to talk.

"I suppose I don't mind talking with you a little more."

"In that case, may I ask you a question?"

"What is it?"

"Last time we spoke, you mentioned there was someone who you had to surpass. I was wondering who that person was." Sakura remained silent, so I assumed there was very little chance of me getting a straight answer.

"Could you at least tell me their gender?"

"It's a man." The man that Sakura wants to surpass...who is it? Perhaps it's her teacher.

"Do you mean your father? You mentioned that he was your teacher."
"...The family dojo has been passed down from generation to generation for the past three centuries," she said.

"Three centuries...?"

"I was born into my family as an only daughter. Male or female doesn't matter. It's my duty to protect our legacy. And because I am a woman, I must be even stronger than if I were a man. Some would say that a woman is incapable of becoming the strongest human alive. I want to prove them wrong. Which is why I subjected myself to such feverish training under my father's instruction. Surpassing my father was certainly important to me. But that was just a matter of time."

"Just a matter of time? Do you mean...?"

"I was 14 years old when I first beat my father in a sparring match. After that, I never lost to my father again."

"Wow. Then..."

"Yes. I have already surpassed my father."

"That's incredible..." Sakura's sheer strength is almost beyond comprehension...

"I'm not sure I did the right thing. My father also had the desire to become the strongest human alive. But I can't look back. I can only move forward and try to claim that title for myself. That is my destiny. Well, that's all for now. That was enjoyable. Goodbye."

Without another word, Sakura left me standing there alone. I see. Sakura has secrets of her own. She avoided talking about the person who is stronger than her. They must be important to her. A man who is important to her, huh...

After talking to Sakura, I decided to look for someone else to have a conversation with. Unfortunately, I bumped into Genocide Jill. First I have to listen to Hifumi and Taka arguing, and now I'm going to get roped into a conversation with her...great.

I tried to walk around her, but Jill obviously noticed me.

"Hey, Purple! Listen up!" Again with the purple? Can't she use my real name? "Something's building up, ya know!? Stress, mainly...! It's cuz I haven't gotten to kill anyone lately! So it's building up! It's packed in there tight!" If I'm going to have to talk to her, I may as well try to learn something about her psychology...

"...I'm curious, why do you kill people?"

"Why?"

"An assassin kills for money, some people kill for revenge, or out of anger...the point is, most murders have a motive. But I've never understood what motivates a serial killer. Killing someone when there's no gain seems illogical. It's just meaningless bloodshed, isn't it?"
