The same routine began again. 7 students met up for the class trial. And, as usual, Monokuma appeared with a few choice words of 'encouragement' before we could descend the elevator to the trial room.
"The Ultimate Martial Artist! ^_^ A locked room murder mystery! ;)" The hell? What's with the emoticons? How do you even speak in emoticons? This makes no sense!
"What the...?"
"Oh, I've recently discovered the power...of emoticons! Like, no matter how awful something is, if you toss in a smiley face, it turns positive! For example...You're at a picnic and you find a dead body! XD" That sounds like the start of a bad riddle or something...no, that doesn't matter. Emoticons! Why? How?
"This is just plain creepy..." For once I agreed with Hiro.
"And how about the reverse? No matter how great something is, if you put in a sad face, it makes it look super negative! For example...Do you have a hundred friends? T_T"
"He's right! That *does* make it seem sad!" I retract my previous statement about agreeing with the Clairvoyant.
"Now then, please get on the elevator! o_O I'll see you all down there! <(*_*<) ^(*_*)^ (>*_*)>" the bear disappeared, leaving us all questioning the complete lack of logic in whatever the hell had just happened.
There was a small discussion, more accusations thrown out by Hina(I honestly wouldn't be surprised if she was the murderer after all this effort to pin it on someone else). We approached the elevator, and stayed silent while the metal box clunked downwards.
An innocent man like Makoto might have called this a 'steel prison' and expressed his horror towards the class trials. But they didn't necessarily have to be a bad thing. With every trial came a new floor, and with every new floor came more clues. Sacrifice was sometimes necessary for the rest of us to survive.
We arrived at the trial room and took our places. No one had to check where they stood anymore. It was almost pitiful how the routine had been engraved into our minds.
Just as Monokuma finished recapping the rules, Hina burst out, "We already know who did it...! The one who killed Sakura...is one of the people that hated her! Byakuya, Toko, Ryousuke or Hiro! It was one of you!"
"Hmph. Idiot." (No prizes for guessing who said that.)
"I-I had nothing to d-do with it..."
"Y-Yeah...I'd never kill someone, no way!"
"I don't wanna hear your stupid excuses!" Hina yelled, ignoring the protests.
"Isn't Ryousuke being unusually silent? You'd think he'd have some inane remark to add, but he hasn't even protested his innocence," Byakuya pointed out.
I looked him dead in the eye. "I didn't kill Sakura Ogami."
"It must have been one of you...One of you killed Sakura!"
"And what reason do you have for saying so?" Byakuya challenged.
"Because you all had a motive! You hated her!" Well I won't deny it...
"Just because I dislike traitors doesn't mean I killed her," I pointed out.
"That's the only reason you have for accusing us?"
Makoto cut in, "Another reason you suspect them is because Sakura wanted to meet with them, right?"
"Yeah! And that was right before she died! So there's no doubt about it! One of those four killed her! The fact that Sakura wanted to meet with all four of them...There's no way that's not suspicious! One of you is absolutely guilty!"
