Chapter 15

•••Astrid POV•••

"There's Hiccup!" Fishlegs pointed out. Hiccup was pushed up against the side of the ship by Ryker. Viggo was at the front of the ship staring at us. He turned back to his brother and said something. Ryker nodded and pushed Hiccup into the ocean.

"Nooooo!" I screamed. Toothless dove but then was stopped when the arrows came. Hiccup said the arrows were poisonous to dragons so I had to pull Toothless out of the way of a few shots. Then came nets and boulders. A barrage of all three were troublesome and Hiccup could drown anytime now.

"Astrid, distract the hunters. I'm going down." Stoick said. Just as he said that Stormfly dove down to the surface of the water.

"You heard him. Cover the chief!" I ordered. Stoick was able to reach the surface and disappeared under the water.

•••Stoick POV•••

The water was cold and you could barely see anything in front of you. But the dragon seemed to know exactly where to go. It swam through the water gracefully towards the bottom. That's when I saw him.

He was struggling in the ropes and he probably couldn't hold anymore oxygen in. I pointed towards him and the dragon launched forward. I grabbed him by the ropes and we shot upwards. We broke the surface and flew up to Astrid and the others.

"Are you alright?" I asked. The boy, draped across the dragons back, coughed out water and nodded.

"Yeah. I could use a knife though." He said. I nodded and handed him one I carried around. He cut through his ropes and threw them away. He handed back the knife.

"Hiccup!" Astrid said when she saw us.

"Astrid can you grab my spare leg out of the bag on your right? Then switch me dragons." The boy asked. Astrid nodded and reached into the bag and threw the prosthetic towards us. He attached the leg and stood.

"Okay come closer so I can get on." He said. Astrid and the Nightfury came closer and the boy jumped landing on the nightfuries back.

"I'm going back. Viggo has the lenses." Astrid nodded and they dove back down to the ship. Everyone else followed.

•••Hiccup POV•••

"I'd like those lenses back now." I said. All the hunters were unconscious or knocked into the water. It was just Viggo and Ryker.

"You think that you've turned this fight around. But don't forget that we have weapons that can destroy your dragons in minutes, no seconds. Two boats came by the side of Viggo's ship and two dozen more hunters drew their bows.

"I know. But that's only if you can catch us." Viggo sneered and readied all the bows to fire. He gave the signal and we all separated avoiding arrows. I dropped down just below the ship and had Toothless latch onto the side.

"I'll be back bud." I whispered. I climbed the ship's walls until I was on deck. I pulled out Inferno and launched myself at Viggo. Viggo dodged and Ryker blocked my hit. Viggo ran for his chambers but didn't make it when Astrid dropped down in front of him. She raised her axe to his neck and he stopped running.

"Brother! Come help me!" Viggo cried.

"Ye have yer own sword! Fight for yourself! I'm busy at the moment." Ryker replied. He pulled out his other dragon proof blade and we fought. Every few minutes I would look over and see Astrid fighting Viggo. She had the upper hand. Until a few minutes later. I looked over and see was knocked on the ground by Viggo. He had his sword raised above his head ready to make the final slash.

"Coming in hot!" Hookfang dove down and slashed at Viggo with his claws. Viggo dropped the saddle bag and Astrid grabbed it.

"Looks like we won Ryker. There isn't a need to fight anymore." I said currently blocking his blades from cutting at my throat.

"There's always a need to fight!" He yelled pushing me to the edge of the boat.

"Toothless!" I yelled. Toothless pushed himself up from the side of the boat and jumped on top of Ryker pinning him down.

"Nice one bud! Let's go everybody!" I said. Everyone returned to the air and Astrid handed me the bag of lenses.

"Thanks." I said. Astrid nodded. Stoick, currently on the back of Stormfly, was staring at me.

"Um, can I help you?" I asked. Stoick nodded his head.

"But later. I need to get my village back in order. Astrid take me back." He replied.

"Okay. Let's go Stormfly!"

"Ruff and Tuff. We need a pretty big explosion to drive these hunters off. Would you do the honors?" I said. The twins cheered.

"The honor is all ours!" Tuff said. They circled just above the ships, Barf spewing out gas and Belch lighting it all up. The explosion shook the boats below and they retreated.

"Good job. Let's head back now gang!" I ordered.

There were crowds of people cheering when we got back. There were some "they saved us" and "who knew that dragons would end up saving Berk."

"Quiet down everyone!" Stoick ordered. The Berkians became quiet as Stoick walked up to me.

"You did good. You saved my village. But there is still one think I need to ask you." He said. I nodded.

"You have a pendant. I would like to see it." Stoick said. I was confused. That was all? I nodded again and removed the pendant from my neck and handed it to Stoick. Stoick seemed surprised to see it, rubbing it in his hands and holding it to his chest.

"Your alive." Stoick mumbled.

"What did you say." I asked.

"Your alive. I thought I had lost you those 18 years ago when Alvin attacked." Stoick said. The villagers gasped and started whispering to each other.

"What are you talking about? When Alvin attacked? Lost me?" Stoick was silent. So was everyone else.

"My son."
