•••Hiccup POV•••
"Berk is coming into view! Everyone prepare to dock!" Gobber yelled. I popped my head above deck to see. Astrid gestured for me to come up and see.
"Welcome to Berk Hiccup." Astrid said. The island wasn't big, but it was the perfect size for a small village to thrive. Toothless had sat beside me to look at the island. The village was coming in closer. There were multitudes of people waiting at the dock with the happiest faces they could muster. A frown.
"You ready to not die." Gobber joked. I just smiled back at him and slipped on my mask.
"I'll try." I replied. As we docked everyone started to freak out. Whispers of dragons on the ship began to spread rapidly, even the few 'is that a Nightfury?' Out stepped a large man with long, messy
black hair with a signature Viking helmet with long horns pointed up atop his head. He had a slight beard and looked kind of like Snotlout."I hope you have an excellent reason for bringing these dragons onto our island Gobber." He said, his voice booming. He looked straight at me with a glare.
"It's not my reason Spitelout. It's his." Gobber pointed to me.
"A masked stranger. Very safe." Spitelout replied still staring. I stepped up to the dock Toothless right on my tail.
"I am the Dragon Conquerer. I haven't come to start anything, I'm only here to assure these dragons a safe place to live." I said. Spitelout and I stood and stared at each other for a few minutes.
"You'll have to take that proposal up with the chief." Spitelout finally said. He grabbed me by the arm and started dragging me.
"Hey let him go!" Astrid yelled. I turned back to Astrid and shook my head.
"Don't worry. I'll be okay." I said. Spitelout dragged me through the village, people stopped to stare and whisper to each other. Toothless had snuck away and every few times I saw him hiding in the shadows of the building. We walked all the way up to the biggest house in the village. The chief's house. Spitelout knocked on the door.
"Chief. We have an issue." The door slammed open immediately.
"I thought I told you not to disturb me unless there was a dragon attack." Said the large man that answered the door. He was larger than Spitelout with long red hair instead of black. His beard was loose with few braids in it. He wore a long brown fur cloak and a leather tunic. His eyes were green like mine but his were more dull and sharp.
"There hasn't been a dragon attack in years." Spitelout mumbled. He shook it off and pushed me forward.
"This boy wants to speak to you." He said. The chief looked into the eye slits in my mask as that was the only visible part of my face.
"Who are you?" He asked. I stood as tall as I could, which compared to him wasn't very tall.
"I am the Dragon Conquerer. I am here to make a deal with you." I explained. The chief was looking at my mask still. He wanted me to take it off.
"If you want me to remove my mask all you need to do is ask." I said pulling my mask off and letting my hair loose. It was actually kind of refreshing to take it off, it was getting quite stuffy.
"Now can we get to business." I asked the two shocked men. They quickly shook it off and returned to their serious faces.
"Yes let's proceed. Please come inside." The chief pulled Spitelout and I into the house and sat us down at a table. He then sat opposite of us.
"What is it you want here..." the Chief started, looking to Spitelout for a name.
"Dragon Conquerer." I repeated.
"Dragon Conquerer. Okay then, what is it that you want with my island?" He asked.
"I was asked to help these dragons find a home. I spent a year with your teens, they helped me when I was wounded and provided us a temporary home until we could fly again. They have bonded with the dragons and would never be able to separate from each other." I explained. Stoick nodded. Spitelout looked confused.
"What do you mean by we? Are there more of you? More dragons?" He asked. I nodded.
"Only one dragon. He's my best friend and riding pal. He's uh...how do I say this...a Nightfury." When I said this only Spitelout seemed shocked. The chief didn't even look away from me.
"Are you expecting me to give him a home as well?" He asked. I shook my head this time.
"No. He travels with me and we have a home. But I can't bring the other dragons home with me. My island is overpopulated at the moment and I just can't bring in four more." I explained. The chief nodded.
"I understand. But how do we know they won't attack us?" He asked.
"I believe that's already been taken care of. Astrid, Fishlegs, the twins, and Snotlout have spent a year training them. I think it will be up to them." I said. The Chief nodded his head.
"As long as they aren't a problem I could probably work something out." Spitelout jumped up and slammed his hands onto the table.
"You can't be serious Stoick! Dragons are our natural enemy! They killed your wife and even possibly your son! You don't know what Alvin did to him!" Stoick stood and placed his hand on Spitelout's shoulder.
"I believe in the teens. Do you not believe that your own son can keep that beast contained?" Stoick asked. Spitelout shut up. He sat back down next to me.
"When will you be leaving Mr. Dragon Conquerer?" Stoick asked getting back on topic.
"Soon I hope. My allies must think I'm dead." I joked. Sadly no one else laughed.
"Ahem. Hopefully in a day or two. Toothless is going to need to rest before the long journey." I explained.
"Toothless?" Stoick asked.
"The Nightfury." I replied.
