•••Fishlegs POV•••

I hesitated in moving the cloth to get into the tent. There's just something about the boy that washed up on our island that scares me. But it's not the fact that he rides a dragon. Dragons aren't really scary anymore, not ever since we learned how to ride. I pet my beautiful Meatlug and fed her a nice rock before going back to my thinking.

The part that scares me the most is his fighting skill. He fights better than anyone I've ever met. Maybe even Astrid too. If I got on his bad side I would be dead in seconds. I finally got up the courage to open the tent. But there was no one there.

"Can I help you?" Asked a voice from above me. I looked up to see the boy perched on a branch just above his tent.

"Oh let me guess. Your here to keep an eye on me, am I right?" He guessed. I couldn't take the pressure anymore.

"Yes! Yes! I'msorryitwasallSnotlout'sideaIhadnopartinitpleasedontkillme!" I cried out. Then the boy surprised me, he laughed. Not for long but he saw me as funny and laughed. I nervous laughed after him.

"I-I've heard from Astrid that y-you're quite knowledgeable about d-dragons?" I asked as more of a question.

"Yeah? What of it?" Replied the boy. I stopped shaking for a moment and turned to the boy all fear gone.

"I'm turning my back on dragon killing. You've shown me that dragons aren't as bad as we've made them out to be. I want to learn more about dragons so I can help others see that they aren't bad." I said. The boy smiled.

"Good. Class is in session then."

"A Submaripper?! You've seen one before?!" I gawked. The boy, now known as Hiccup, nodded.

"Viggo and Ryker chained it to the ocean floor to draw me out. They knew that if I went to help the dragon the edge would be defenseless and they could steal the Dragon Eye II. But little did they know I had it with me the whole time." He explained.

"What's the Dragon Eye II?" I asked. Hiccup hesitated but then reached over to Toothless' saddle bag. He pulled out a cylindrical object that looked like a Nightfury.

"Woah. What does it do?" I asked. Hiccup smiled.

"Have Meatlug shoot a lava blast at the ground just behind that stump. It should project onto the tent." I nodded and had Meatlug spew.

'What did he mean by project I wonder?'

Hiccup placed two daggers on the stump and placed the Dragon Eye II in between the daggers. Suddenly there was a projection of words from a forgotten language, pictures of dragons that I had never seen before, and maps for places outside of the Archipelago.

"This is incredible. Where did you find such a magnificent item?" I asked. Question after question was flooding my mind right now.

"This isn't the original. The original was taken by the dragon hunters about a year ago. I build this one the same way as the other. It took a while, but I finally got it to work." Hiccup explained.

"You build this. Where did you learn welding from? Was it your family? Were you self taught? Or are you just a natural at it?" I started rambling. Hiccup shrugged.

"Its a skill that's just been there. I never knew my real family. Maybe they were blacksmiths or welders." He replied.

"You never knew your family? Not even where you're from?" I said. Hiccup nodded.

"I never really cared where I came from. I usually just focus on the present. If there is a time when I can see them again then I'll gladly take that chance, but I don't think it will ever be soon." Hiccup said. I nodded. We continued talking about different dragons and examining different lenses of the Dragon Eye II. I feel as if he's starting to trust me little by little.

•••Hiccup POV•••

As morning turned to afternoon Toothless and I decided to head back to our temporary lodging. It was mostly empty except for the cot sitting in the corner of the tent. I never liked sleeping in tents, they were too small for Toothless to fit into so we just slept outside or in spacious caves. But this tent was just the right size for Toothless to curl up right next to the bed. There wasn't much walking space with him there but just having him next to me was worth more than some extra space.

I sat on the cot, bouncing a bit at the elasticity. I laid down and stared at the roof of the tent. Just white fabric and sticks. I sat up and pat my lap.

"Come here bud." I said. Toothless purred and sat his head on my lap. I scratched his head and laid back down. I thought of home. Of empty Dragon's Edge. Then I thought of here, how it wasn't there home but how they have more fun, and adventures, and noise in general. Heather and Dagur visit on occasion but it's not as lively as an actual home.

'You never knew your family? Not even where you're from?' Fishleg's words echoed back and forth in my head.

Where did I come from?

Who am I?

It was hours before I was met with the next look out person. Or persons I should say. Ruffnut and Tuffnut burst into the tent startling Toothless and I. I rubbed my eyes and realized that I must have fallen asleep.

"Time to get up our mysterious frienemy! We have a wonderful afternoon planned!" Tuffnut yelled startling Toothless and I out of sleep. I rubbed my eyes and yawned. It's been awhile since I've had a good sleep.

"What?" I asked. Ruffnut and Tuffnut smiled deviously at each other.

"An afternoon full of explosions, boars, chickens, death, and fun!" Ruffnut replied.

"Wait Wait Wait, What did you say?" I asked. The twins shrugged.

"Chickens?"
