10 - in science

I cycled my way into our cafe and quickly changed into my uniform. Since today is the first day of some schools here in our area, our cafe is packed with students, some are dates and some are for studies. When am I gonna go on date? It's not like I'm rushing into things but I want to feel what this overrated feeling. Yeah, typical Dream.

I proceed at the counter and took the place of my mom. She is the most amazing person I know, next is Dani. She raised me on her own and keeping up with me is not that pleasing. Sometimes I shut her out and cuss on her but she is always understanding me. Saying that it's ok for me to let out ny anger and sometimes she does it too. I am so thankful for her. I smiled as I looked at the woman who is serving a pie at a couple on booth #6.

"Mom, my classmate and I are gonna finish out homework here around 8pm." I informed my mom.

"It's ok honey, I told you that you can take a shift off anytime for your studies. I can handle this." My mom sweetly said.

"I still want to help you mom." I said.

The costumers died down at 7:50 and now I am changing into the outfit that I left here at the cafe. I walked outside the locker room and sat on the booth.

"8:03" the clock says as I waited on the booth so I already started the presentation. I waited for like half an hour more then a few "Is he really coming?" from my mom and I felt stupid hoping that Zach would really help me. He can easily get away with it and I'd be stuck alone to present these. The door dings and I have no shits to look at it right now because for the last half an hour, I've spared that door a glance everytime it dings.

"Dream!"

I looked up at the Zach who is clearly sweating running over here.

"You're half an hour late and you can just tell Ms. Bon that you couldn't present and you can get away with it." I said with all might and brushed him off. He clung onto my arm and prevented me from walking away.

"Look, my car broke down and I couldn't call the mechanic because my phone died and I couldn't update you either so I walked all the way to the trailer which is neighboring Mars. Then they fixed my car and I drove like Lightning McQueen over here. I'm sorry if you felt that I stood you up." He explained clearly out of breath.

"The presentation is already done."

"Well we can study it and practice how we would present it on Wednesday." He said trying to convince me. "I'm going to treat you a chocolate cake as my apology. And I heard that they make good cakes here."

I nod and smiled, I mean who could resist. I should probably tell him that we own the cafe.

"Here you go." My mom said as she served us.

"Thanks." He blankly said and I felt offended at the tone she gave my mom.

"You know I consider this as our first date but next timeon our real date, it wouldn't be in some kind of cafe." He said and probably he should've kept that last line to him because I'm really offended. Offended for him insulting our cafe and for me cafe is my ideal date. I just faked him a smile and continue our discussion.

"You are asking me on a date?"

"Yeah, why shouldn't I? Dream you are beautiful and I would really miss out if I didn't date you. I don't know what's wrong with me that I haven't noticed you since." He explained too giddy. My bad mood washed away because I've never been complimented this way and it's nice.
