"Will you just give up already?" I deadpan, both amused and irritated. Not that he'd know that.

He's trying to make me laugh. I haven't laughed in so many years, it's foreign to me. To my nature. My personality.

I'm like Smile, another new member here. I know his name isn't actually "Smile," it's Ciel Phantomhive. His butler, Sebastian Michaelis, or "Black," is with him. How do I know their real names? I've met them in London before. Helped them with a case.

We haven't seen each other since, though they do recognize me and know my real name.

Here, I go by "K-9." Simply because I'm dangerous, like a police/guard dog. At this circus I pull of stunts that could kill me, but always survive them. Awes the crowd every time.

I also am part wolf, so that contributed as well. I have (color) wolf ears and a fluffy (color) tail. My eyes flow when I'm angry, and I have upper fangs.

"Not until I make you laugh!" Joker exclaims, and I shake my head.

"Good luck with that," I reply sarcastically, rolling my eyes. He smiles at me, unfazed.

I feel a blush rise to my cheeks, but I ignore it and just listen to his jokes.

"Today at the bank," Oh Jesus, "an old lady asked me to help check her balance." I know where this is going. "So I pushed her over." Knew it.

I purse my lips, feeling a tiny laugh inside of me. Not enough to make me show it, but still. It's something.

"Okay, okay, here's another one. I bought some shoes from a drug dealer. I don't know what he laced them with, but I've been tripping all day."

I was wondering where that one was going. I nod, raising an eyebrow, "Interesting.."

"So, you know what happened earlier?"

"What?"

"I told Doll that she drew my eyebrows on too high. She seemed surprised."

I snort, giving a slight smile. Joker grins wider, knowing he's getting somewhere.

"My dog used to chase people on a bike a lot. It got so bad, finally I had to take his bike away."

What the hell?

I bite my bottom lip, trying my hardest not to laugh. "W-Weird dog you had.."

"Yeah, he was. Oh, did you know that when you look really closely, all mirrors look like eyeballs?"

That's it.

I burst out into laughter, not able to hold it in anymore. I laugh loudly, covering my mouth. "That was so..so dumb!"

Damnit.

So much for not laughing, huh?

Joker laughs with me, "I know, right?"

When we calm down, he stares deeply into my eyes. "I got you."

"Heh, I guess you did," I reply, smiling and looking away. "It feels..nice."

"Hearing your laughter and seeing your smile feels nicer."

I blush heavily and Joker hugs me. Before I can hug back, he pulls away and plants his lips onto mine. I lean into the kiss and hold onto him tightly.

He got me to laugh.

I never thought I'd see the day.

Looks like he truly is the only light in my darkness.
