GUYS! I just went to see End Game today (4/27/19) and I'm DEAD! I'm glad that my favorite character was brought back, by why did they have to kill one of the most important people in the Avengers?! I'm keeping it vague for those who haven't seen it yet lmao. If you have seen it, then what are your thoughts on it?

ALSO! Sorry for not updating for like a week. I know this happens a lot and that I apologize all the time for it, but I just get lazy or busy. Most of the time it's both. I'm almost through with testing for school, and summer break is just around the corner! Then I'll have more time to update (if I don't actually finish this book by then)!

"You're screwed."

"Gee, thanks for the optimism, Dillan," I reply sarcastically, rolling my eyes as I cross my arms in nervousness.

We're standing outside of the boss's office, just briefly talking. I was called down a few days after my mission of murdering Alois failed, today. The boss knows I didn't succeed in killing him, and now I'll be punished for it.

"Sorry, but it's true. Why didn't you just kill Alois?"

"I tried to. Really I did. But I was stopped by the triplets."

"And here I was thinking that you were unstoppable," Dillan teases, trying to lighten the mood.

"That's only most of the time," I retort with a smirk. "Now c'mon, I've gotta get inside."

He nods and opens the door, allowing me to enter first. I walk in and he comes in behind me, shutting the door. We both bow in front of the boss as he comes closer to us. My smirk falls and I go back to being pretty much emotionless.

Boss motions for us to stand straight, so we do. "You failed to complete your mission of assassinating Alois Trancy, YN."

"I know, sir."

"Care to explain why?"

"Yes, sir. I was stopped by the triplets of the estate before I could slit his throat."

"I see..though you still could've went back to finish the job, right?"

I stay silent for a moment, staring at the ground. I could've done that, but the thought hadn't crossed my mind. All I was thinking about was the experience I had with the triplets. It's not like I'd admit that to my boss, or anyone, though.

They'd think of me as weak. I don't want that.

Love is a weakness, not a strength. Anybody could use my love for them against me. That's why it's a weakness. A liability. Although, I don't know if I'm truly in love with those triplets.

Before I could speak, boss cut me off by holding one hand up to silence me. "Enough. By the look on your face I can tell that's exactly what happened. You didn't. Possibly forgot you could do that. Am I correct?"

I nod wordlessly as Dillan stands beside me, unsure on what to do or say. It's best if he doesn't intervene anyway.

"Tell you what. I'll give you a second chance." I finally meet his eyes, feeling a bit of hope. Though that came crashing down as I heard his next statement. "However, if you fail to kill Alois for a second time, you will be kicked out of the guild. Never to return. Deal?"

I bite my lip under my spare mask, thinking the proposal over. This is my chance to redeem myself, but is it really worth it? "Wait, what happens if I say no to your offer?"
