Your POV
———

I pant as I struggle to stand. He throws another punch my way, and I cripple to the floor in pain.

I'm not strong enough to fight back.

He gags me and ties up my feet and wrists.

I was just minding my own business at the Phantomhive Manor, when all of a sudden, my vision turned to black and I passed out. Now here I am, finding myself in this situation.

Hoping someone will save me.

The man chuckles darkly and leaves. I know his plan. He had explained it all to me.

He will be setting a fire out the front, letting it slowly make its way to me so I will burn alive.

How cruel.

As soon as he exits and slams the wooden door shut behind him, I immediately start working at my bonds.

I manage to get my feet free. If I need to escape soon, which I will, I can at least now run.

I begin to smell smoke wafting through the air, and I stick low to the ground. I try to untie my wrists, and I manage it somehow. I pull off my gag and look around, not standing just yet.

There are no windows in this room. My only option is the door, unless I want to burn to death.

I crawl to the door then stand, touching the doorknob with one finger to test it. It's not hot, so I open the door. My eyes water as smoke makes its way into them.

I cover my mouth with my shirt, bending forward so I can be slightly lower to the ground as I walk. It helps a little.

As I'm stepping around, looking for a way out, the roof caves in and falls. I gasp and jump out of the way, collapsing as it still hits me. The heavy material slams onto my leg and I scream in pain.

It's hot too, as if the situation couldn't get any worse.

I try to pry my leg free, but it's no use. This thing is over two hundred pounds, at least.

The roof above my that's still intact also begins to crumble, and I swallow nervously.

If I'm not fast enough, I won't make it.

I need to get out of here.

As if answering my prayers, I can faintly hear someone yelling my name. "YN! YN, where are you?"

It's Finny!

I cough loudly before shouting back, my voice rough, "Over here!"

He quickly makes his way over to me, right as a piece from the roof fell again. It hits me on the face, causing a tiny burn mark and blood. Luckily, it wasn't a huge chunk of the roof.

I grunt in pain, wincing as the part of the roof that's on my leg slowly grows hotter.

Finny's eyes widen as he runs over to me, grabbing the roof in his hands as he begins to push it off of my leg. The pressure soon releases, but I'm too hypnotized marveling at Finnian's strength.

I know he's really strong, as he's told me his backstory before, but it never gets old whenever he does things like this in front of me.

I know it must be hard on Finny. He hates what had happened to him, and yet he pushed that all aside to save my life. Putting me first. Now I know that he will do anything to protect me.

With a final grunt in frustration, he manages to shove the roof into the wall. Finny then picks me up with ease, hurrying to get me out of here.

I bury my face into his shirt, the pain coming back as I try to just focus on breathing in his scent. Ignoring the smoke smell along with it.

When we get outside, he brings me a good distance away from the burning barn and sets me down. He crouched next to me and examines my wounds.

"Are you okay, YN?" Finny asked quietly in concern, meeting my eyes.

I blush and nod, gritting my teeth as I give a weak smile, "Could be worse."

We freeze as a man's voice orders, a gun being cocked to be ready to shoot, "Step away from her."

I see Finny tense up, but he keeps his cool and stands, turning around slowly. He makes eye contact with my kidnapper, then glares.

"I said to step away from her," he orders again.

Finny shakes his head, becoming surprisingly confident, "Why don't you put that gun down and fight me like a man. Unless you're scared of losing against me."

My kidnapper scoffs and tosses the gun to the side, taking Finny's bait. "I'll show you scared."

They begin to wrestle, and Finny goes all out. He wins, obviously. The man he was fighting is beaten up badly, with multiple broken bones. He'd be lucky if he didn't die, to be honest.

Finny showed no mercy.

And I found that rather...attractive.

It's so unlike him, that I'm fascinated by that side of him. The side that will protect his friends whenever they need it most.

Finnian turns and comes my way, his face beaten up a little. Crouching next to me again, I bring my hand up to his face shakily. I wipe away some of the blood on his bottom lip, and he blushes.

I wipe the blood into my clothes, and he immediately grabs my hand when I'm done. Possibly even a second before I finished.

He holds it tenderly, yet tight. Staring into his eyes I realize something that wasn't clear to me before.

I love him.

I always have.

Through the foggy mess of my mind, I couldn't see the obvious truth.

That doesn't matter, because now I can.

As if feeling the same, he uses the last of his confidence with his next move. He plants his lips onto mine, kissing me slowly. Our mouths move in sync, and it almost seems too perfect.

Finny grips my waist gently, and I gently cup his neck with my hands.

The kiss ends seconds later, and we're both smiling through our pain.

This is a new chapter for the both of us. A new door that has opened after the last one shut.

Only now I don't ever want this one to close, if it means losing the man I love.
