Tony Stark had always had a cold heart, he was selfish and only cared about himself and Pepper, or so everyone thought. The billionaire didn't care about anyone and was a so called hero for himself and to make himself feel good and boost his ego.

When Tony returned from Titan, he tried to put on a normal, stone cold expression but he couldn't get the young teen out of his head and his happy bubbly personality. No matter how Tony tried to put it, he loved that kid like his own, he would do anything for him. His face was bruised and bloody but he didn't care, the pain was numb the only pain he felt was the ache from his heart.

He grieved down in his lab, cried and broke down, put the lab on lock down and no one ever attempted to interfere with him. It had been two weeks since he had last held Peter in his arms, playing the memory over and over in his head, the teen clutching onto Tony's body for dear life as Tony watched him fade into ash, the last words he said was 'I'm sorry...'. He never wanted to hear those words again, the words he despised especially when the kid couldn't do anything from preventing it from happening.

Tony blamed himself for the kid turning and fading into ash, just watching him disintegrate until there was no more than a few specks of ash. He would give up the world just to hear his laugh one last time or just to see his million dollar smile. He tried his best to think of every possible way to get Peter back, not giving a care for his lack of food or sleepless nights, he hadn't come out of the lab for at least five days and the last time he was it was a quick trip to get food and get back down to the lab situation. He had passed out from exhaustion a few nights ago in the lab, waking up finding himself on the cold, concrete floor.

He grieved and grieved to no end, the boy he just wished to hold, gone. His laughs and energy, gone. The world had been robbed of kindness and care. They had been robbed of the only light in Tony's entire world.

Steve had had enough, Tony sulking down in his lab for no reason, it wasn't exactly like he had lost anyone, he didn't care enough for anyone to even be upset. He marched down to Tony's lab, not caring for the rest of the team's protests and advice. He busted down the door before marching up to the slumped over, tear marked face of the billionaire before stating.

"I don't even know how you can grieve down here! We have all lost people yet we are still trying to do something about it yet you are just acting like a baby down in your lab when you don't even care enough about anyone to actually be sad about the disappearances! We thought you would at least help us but you're too self absorbed to care about anyone else!"

Tony just looked up at Steve, before standing up a look of fury flashing over his face, "Listen here Steve." Tony said spitting Steve's name out like a disgrace, "You obviously don't know enough about me to actually know why I'm down here! You want to know why I'm here Steve?! I'm down here because my son was robbed of this world! The most caring, kind hearted, loyal person I have ever met disintegrated in my arms, whispering to me 'I'm sorry' when he did nothing wrong, he begged me not to let him go, to keep him here with me and I couldn't help him at all. I had to watch my own son disintegrate in my arms so before you make assumptions check your facts!"

Tony felt two arms go around his waist and a face melt into his back, he twisted his body around to see a mess of brown curly hair digging into his chest, the figure looked up staring into Tony's eyes, the brown with a slight gold tint in them showing happiness and love, "I love you too dad."
