If there was one thing to go wrong in Peter's life it would be getting sick the day before the Academic Decathlon tournament. He wasn't supposed to get sick so he tried to hide it as best as he could so one, he could deny that he could actually get sick to himself and to Tony who would freak and and two, to be able to go on the trip to Washington.
Peter made it his goal to get up that morning, act normal, and leave for the trip but that was practically impossible with an over protective father and family in general along with living with real life spies but he was determined.
Peter heard the alarm to wake up go off and shot out of bed, opening his eyes groggily not only to find out he wasn't in his bed and to find out he was wrapped in his blankets like a cocoon on the ceiling. Another problem? He couldn't get his hands off the ceiling, they were stuck. Peter closed his eyes, trying his best to getting rid of any panic and thoughts that were clouding his mind and focusing completely on detaching himself from the ceiling. The blankets softly fell back down onto the ground beside his bed while he was concentrating, his hands starting to detach themselves from the surface. He let out a sigh of relief then suddenly he realized, he was still attached to the ceiling and was now hanging upside down, by his feet.
"Hurry up Pete or we're gonna start breakfast without you!" Peter heard Steve shout through to him.
Come on Peter, come on. Peter tried to convince himself, doing anything that he could to be able to get him off the ceiling, his prayers were finally answered as his feet detached and he started to fall to the floor. He was sure that he would be able to land on his feet because his Spider Sense would save him, apparently not because he fell to the floor creating a loud bang noise as he groaned and rolled over.
"Peter are you okay?!" He heard Tony's frantic voice shout out.
"Uh yeah yeah just uh dropped something." Peter said quickly, his voice cracking slightly as he lifted himself off of the floor and ran into the bathroom, locking the door behind him.
Peter put his arm on the counters in the bathroom to steady himself, slowly lifting his head up to look at himself in the mirror. He had dark bags underneath his eyes and his skin was paler than normal, his face looked drained and he honestly had no clue how to hide it but he was determined because he was going on that trip.
Peter washed his face before changing into jeans and a t-shirt, quickly placing a long sleeved hoodie over the top of the t-shirt using the hood to cover his face. He bounced out of his room, trying his best to look as perky as possible for his family so that they wouldn't be suspicious.
When he showed up to breakfast they all looked at him strangely, eyeing his hood as he sat down at the table. Steve reluctantly gave him his pancakes as Peter smothered them in syrup and began eating, trying not to take noticed on the staring that he was getting from his family. As soon as he was done he placed his dish in the sink and grabbed his suitcase shouting goodbye to his family before going to walk out, only to go into a coughing fit.
Tony rushed up to him, unsure of what to do as the rest of the Avengers followed, when Peter did stop, Tony narrowed his eyes at Peter, "Are you sick?"
"What! No of course not! I was just uh- choking on dust!" Peter tried to lie badly.
Natasha sarcastically started laughing, "Yeah you choked on dust, that's why you're trying to hide your pale face and you went into a sickly sounding coughing fit."
"I uh-" Peter didn't know what to say.
"Wait I thought you didn't get sick." Sam piped up.
"Well I'm going to be late for the trip." Peter said as he made a dash for the door before he hit into the chest of Steve.
"Nope go back to bed, you aren't going on the trip." Steve said to him sternly.
"But Uncle Steve-" Peter protested.
"Don't want to hear it kid, back to bed." Tony said, piping up again.
"But I'm not-" Peter cut himself off with a sneeze, attaching himself to the ceiling, "sick." He muttered as he looked at the floor where Tony, Steve, Sam and Natasha stared at him from.

Peter was taken to bed reluctantly after he managed to detach himself from the ceiling for the second time that morning, Tony not leaving his side apart from when he made a mad dash down to Bruce to get him to come up. Tony was frightened for his son, having absolutely no idea that Peter could get sick never mind what he had managed to catch.
Steve made him some homemade soup while Tony ran around doing everything else not allowing him to leave bed. Bruce worked frantically to make some sort of cure even though he didn't actually know what Peter had caught. It was unlike anything he had seen before and wondered if it had something to do with the Spider DNA running through his blood. Tony had to help Peter detach himself from the ceiling a few times along with comforting Peter when he had to throw up. That whole weekend had been torturous for the Avengers as they hated seeing their precious baby spider sick, most of them staying away considering how protective Tony was being over him, snapping at anyone who walked in the room or even breathed at that point.
Bruce finally ran up the stairs with a glass bottle, filled with this green, gooey mixture which certainly wasn't pleasant to the eye and it certainly wasn't going to taste good either. He ran into Peter's bedroom to see the teenager, his face a ghostly white and his normal fluffy, curly brown hair matted with sweat to his forehead. His nose bright red and dark, deep bags underneath his eyes. Tony didn't look much better either, the slightly dried tear tracks running down his cheeks and bags underneath his eyes as well.
Bruce held up the bottle, "I have the cure." Tony's head shot up as Peter opened his eyes and did his best to sit up.
"Here Pete," Bruce said handing the bottle to Peter carefully, Peter eyed the bottle, more likely the mixture inside and scrunched up his nose, Bruce sensed his discomfort, "Don't worry it'll taste like strawberries." Bruce lied.
Peter eyed the scientist before reluctantly lifting the bottle to his mouth and drinking the contents, his face scrunching up in disgust as he wrenched his eyes closed. Once he swallowed he gagged slightly before coughing, "That did not taste like strawberries." Peter muttered out.
Tony let out a worried chuckle as Bruce smiled lightly at the boy, "You can come out of bed, it'll kick in soon." Bruce said stretching out his hand to pull Peter up, leading him out of the room.
Once they made it out the were met with all of the Avengers, Bucky and Loki included. They all smiled when they saw the young spider finally out of his bed. Bruce led him over to the sofa, Tony following in tow as they all asked Peter how he was feeling.
"The medicine has started to kick in and he should be completely alright by tomorrow morning." Bruce explained before they all heard a sneeze.
They all lifted their heads to the ceiling, staring at the figure who was stuck their yet again, Clint's eyes widening in surprise as he had never seen Peter do that before.
