Peter Parker had always been chatty, he told the avengers everything. He shared everything with them, how his patrol nights were, how school was, even Flash and the whole vulture incident, they helped him through everything and he was no longer getting bullied by Flash. But there was one thing that they didn't know about, his sister, Rachel. It was a detail that had always slipped his mind and personally he didn't want his little sister getting involved in the whole Avengers superhero stuff, especially considering how powerless she was.
Rachel and Peter used to be really close, they would help each other with homework, well Peter would help Rachel, they'd watch movies together, have star wars movie marathons and Peter would constantly go to Rachel's dance competitions to motivate her. They were like best friends, they did everything together, until Peter got the Stark Internship.
It started out just him not being able to watch movie marathons with her much anymore, heading over to the tower sometimes and helping Mr Stark with projects. It then turned into an everyday thing, Rachel would find her grades lowering and becoming more stressed when she couldn't figure out the homework that she had because of how bad the teachers explained them. They couldn't explain them like Peter could.
She often never finished the homework, using this time to practice new dance routines. She was often found late at night in the studio practicing instead of at home, studying or resting. May was getting worried at how much time she was spending there, she didn't want Rachel over-exhausting herself but Peter? He didn't even notice. She knew that he probably forgot about her it would only be a matter of time that he stopped doing the only thing they used to do together anymore, go to her competitions.
That day came sooner than Rachel had expected, she had her hair wrapped up neatly and her dance costume for her duet on, huddled around her team members. They all shared some encouraging words to each other before the competition as they always did, before breaking away and heading into their groups for their dances. Rachel made her way over to her duet partner who also happened to be her boyfriend, Harley. (YES IT'S HARLEY KEENER JUST COS I WANTED TO SKS fIgHt Me BoUt iT)
She was nervous for May and Peter to see her dancing, especially because it was her first duet, she normally did group routines or solos so there wasn't really ever much partner work so she was nervous to make sure it all went to plan. She wanted to do it not only for Harley and her dance teammates but for May and Peter. She wanted to make them proud.
"Please welcome Harley and Rachel doing an acrobatic routine to 'Unconditionally'" The presenter introduced as they made their way out onto the stage.

When they finished, they gracefully made their way off stage with small smiles on their faces at how well they did. They hugged and congratulated each other as they went off stage to get changed back into their normal dance uniforms for the awards at the end of the night as they were coming up soon.
~Time skip to Awards~
They all sat in their dance studio's areas as they impatiently waited for the awards. The solo that had been chosen for their dance company had got second place and the group had gotten first so Harley and Rachel could really do with a win.
"Moving onto the duo awards, in third place, Jack and Cassandra, in second place, Anthony and Ellie, and in first place, Harley and Rachel!"
They all celebrated around the back of the stage, their trophies in hand waiting for their family members to come backstage. May came in along with Harley's mother and sister but Rachel couldn't help but notice her brother wasn't there.
"Hey honey, you did great today!" May congratulated, hugging her niece.
"Thanks May, uh w-where's Peter?" Rachel asked, hoping he hadn't done what she thought he done.
"I'm sorry Rach, he's still at the tower." May said sympathetically.
Rachel looked down at her shoes, trying to hide the tears that were in her eyes, she found it dumb that she was crying for her brother forgetting about her competition but yet at the same time she was so hurt. He preferred the Avengers over his own sister, but they were awesome, they've saved the world and she bet it was interesting with them, she was just his boring, annoying sister. "Oh."
"I'm so sorry honey, I tried to call him-" May started to ramble on but was cut off my Rachel.
"It's fine, May, I uh need to get going because it's the dance retreat this weekend, I'll see you on Monday, I love you." Rachel said, picking up her backpack, hugging her Aunt before heading onto the bus with Harley.
~Earlier on with Peter and The Avengers~
Peter checked his phone on more time before sitting it down on the kitchen counter, grabbing the popcorn and heading into the living room where all of the avengers sat. He placed the bowls of popcorn down on the coffee table before sitting in between Mr Stark and his Auntie Nat.
They watched Star Wars since it was Peter's night to choose but most of them ended up asleep by the time it had been finished despite it not even being that late yet, the ones that were still awake which included, Peter, Bruce, Natasha and Tony all got up and went into the kitchen getting rid of the now empty bowls that had been holding the popcorn oh so long ago. Peter finally checked his phone and gosh, did he regret not looking at it sooner.

His heart just about sunk as he began to run out of the tower, frantically asking FRIDAY to send the elevator down, he could hear the a few of the Avengers running after him as he made his way out of the tower and towards Rachel's dance studio, where the competition was being held today. He knew that he had missed her dance which broke his heart, he had never missed a single one of her competition dances and she had been doing them since she was four of course, she didn't dance very well back then but he didn't care, he was just there to support his sister.
When he got there he seen his Aunt May standing there, he looked at her as she turned sadness clearly visible on her face.
"Did I miss the awards too?" Peter asked.
Aunt May just nodded.
"Where is she?" Peter asked again, looking around for his sister.
"She went away." May replied quietly as all of the avengers caught up with them.
"Away? What do you mean away?" Peter asked in confusion also slightly worried.
"She went away on her dance retreat." May replied staring right at Peter again with sad eyes.
"She had a dance retreat?" Peter asked quietly, embarrassed and slightly ashamed that he didn't know. He knew that she was probably really excited for this, yet they didn't talk enough anymore for him to even know this.
"Yeah," May said looking at me again, "You guys really did loose your brother sisterly bond didn't you?" May asked in a slightly disappointed voice as Peter looked down and nodded, trying to hold back the tears that he held in his eyes.
Not only did he feel ashamed and hurt because of his forgetful actions, he probably hurt her one hundred times worse. He forgot about her, how could he have ever let himself do that?
