{Continuation on from Spider's Sister}

Rachel was miserable, doubts filling herself. Why did she even think that she was worth her brother's time? Why would he stay at her dance competitions to cheer her on? He only probably did it because he felt pity that everyone else had parents with them...

Harley was enraged at Peter, here Rachel was sobbing into him his shirt covered in tears as he tried to comfort her. Harley wasn't annoyed at Rachel for crying into his shirt, he was happy that she knew that she could go to him yet he was enraged at Peter for making his own little sister feel like this.

"I-I just thought t-that if I p-put in eno-enough effort he wo-would be p-proud." Rachel stuttered as she continued to sob into him as he circled her back soothingly trying helplessly to calm the girl down.

"You didn't do anything wrong and even if Peter doesn't care, you made May and I proud." Harley said comfortingly as he placed a kiss in her hair.

~With Peter a few days later(at the tower)~

Peter was heartbroken, how could he have done that too his sister. He was frustrated, he was angry, but not at anyone else other than himself. Over the next two days he stayed in his room at the compound, not eating, not drinking anything and not sleeping.

He was sitting on his bed, staring at the only blank wall in his poster covered room, reflecting on everything with his sister. How he had left her in the dust when he became Spider-Man, how he stopped hanging around with her and worst of all, how did that make her feel? He couldn't bare to see his sister in pain, especially if he was the cause.

"Pete, you need eat something or at least drink something, c'mon underoos." Tony pleaded, scared for the teen's health, both mental and physical. He needed some sort of reaction out of the teen, he hadn't moved his gaze off of the one wall for the past two days, he hadn't even moved from the spot that he had placed himself on his bed.

Tony sighed before getting reinforcements, the tower was filled with people worrying for Peter, mainly Tony, Natasha and Wanda, although Natasha would never let it show. Tony went searching through the halls of the tower before a light-bulb flickered on inside his head. He ran down to the training room where he caught sight of the two familiar super soldiers he had been looking for.
"Steve, Bucky I need help." Tony called out as the two of them turned around to face him, "I need you to carry Peter out of his room, he hasn't left it since we got here two days ago."

Bucky and Steve didn't even reply, they just quickly got up and left, Tony following loosely behind them. By the time that he got upstairs there Bucky and Steve where, pulling Peter out of the room, the boy not even holding up a fight. They quickly placed him on the couch where Tony quickly joined them, his arms crossed but his face showing concern for the boy.

"C'mon Pete, you can't stay miserable like this because of her." Tony pleaded, desperate for the fun loving, talkative boy that they all loved and cared for to return.

"How can I not be miserable? I completely forgot about my own sister!" Peter said the pain and sorrow evident in his voice, tears making a glassy covering over his eyes, clouding his vision.

"C'mon kid, your sister is returning home today, how about we meet her there?" Tony asked hopefully, hoping to get a yes from the boy.
The boy just nodded in return as Tony did an inward victory dance, happy that the boy was willing to do something.

~Time Skip~

Nerves filled Peter's stomach as he squirmed around waiting for Rachel to get off of the bus that had just arrived at the dance studio.  Person after person came flooding off the bus as he eagerly awaited his sister to come, ironically, she was one of two of the last people to get off. As Peter began to walk over to greet her, the other person she walked off the bus with turned her around and kissed her. Peter stood still for a moment, confused but also going into protective-big-brother mode. The boy quickly whispered something into his sister's ear as he glanced over at Peter before hugging her and walking off.

When Rachel turned around she was met with her brother's displeased look on his face and honestly just wanted to walk away from him, not wishing to speak with him at this moment in time. Instead of doing what she planned to, she was rooted on the spot as her brother walked up to her.

"Who was the boy you were with?" Peter questioned rather harshly.
Rachel rolled her eyes, "Wow, hello to you too."
"Rachel." Peter hissed, clearly getting agitated at her lack of answer to his question.
"Peter." Rachel said, matching his tone.

The two of them stared at each other, battling each other with their eyes as Tony came up behind Peter.
"Right Pete, c'mon." Tony said, placing a hand on Peter's shoulder to get him to back away from her.

They never dropped their glares for another half a minute before Peter spoke up, "Who was the boy you were with?"
"If you must know his name is Harley."
"And what is he to you?" Peter asked, his gaze still set firm on his sister.
"My boyfriend." Rachel answered without skipping a beat.
"Rachel, you shouldn't-" Peter started but was cut off by Rachel.
"No." She stated, putting her hand up to try and silence him.
"No what?" He said, getting slightly annoyed again.

"I don't want to hear it Pete." Rachel started, stepping closer to him as she spat out his name, "You can't just come prancing back into my life again, like we talk to each other all the time and that you didn't just leave me behind."

Peter, for once in his life, was rendered speechless towards his sister. They sometimes had little arguments but he always has a sarcastic comment to throw at her, but this time he didn't.

"You can't just act like everything's okay and that you have been like a brother to me all this time. Once you got the stark internship you just disappeared, all you care about is that stupid internship and I have had enough of you just acting like you know what's best for me considering you've barely spared me a glance in the past few months." Rachel said, her eyes brimming with tears as Peter's did the same.

Rachel just looked away from him to try and stop him from seeing the tears that were now rolling down her cheeks. She missed the way her brother would help her with homework, she missed the way he would cheer her on no matter what. She missed her brother.

He pulled her into a hug, wrapping his arms around her slender figure as he rested his chin on her head.

"I'm sorry, Rach. I'm sorry that I missed your competition and haven't talked to you."  Peter said as the tears began to cloud his vision, "I'm sorry that I've been a terrible big brother and even if I can't get our relationship back to the way it was a few months ago, can you at least give me a chance to make it better?"

Rachel just looked at her brother, her chocolate colored brown eyes glistening with tears as she pulled her slender arms around her brother once more, nodding into his chest.

"So then Rach, want to go grab some ice cream?" Peter suggested, trying to change the subject as he looked down at the figure wrapped around his chest.
"That sounds good." Rachel replied, lifting her head up, a small smile painted on her lips.

Peter then grabbed his sister, lifting her up and putting her over his shoulders like a sack of potatoes. Rachel groaned as she tried not to laugh at her brother's antics.
She jabbed his sides as best as she could as she teased him, "Since when have you been able to lift a pencil never mind a person?"
Peter chuckled, "That's a story for another time."

Peter and Rachel may never get their relationship back as strong as they had it, but they were always going to have a good connection no matter the arguments or the bickering that occurred between the two siblings. Rachel would never be forgotten or left behind again, Peter would make sure of it.
