2. Shifted

(I decided to make SS!Chara a girl in this story. if you have a problem with that, please don't hate me.)

A glitchy portal appeared. Sans immediately went on guard.

A figure in a green hoodie and brown pants fell face first through the portal.

Sans recognized the face of the newcomer. It was the face of the genocidal demon. He summoned a Gaster Blaster and prepared to fire.

The human vanished from the line of fire. A voice behind Sans made him jump. For some reason he couldn't explain, he didn't attack.

The Human looked at him as if she had seen a ghost, which, from her point of view, she basically had.

SS!Chara's POV

"Sans?" I asked.

"You know me?" He asked. He was dressed in a blue hoodie and gym shorts, nothing like in my universe.

"Course I know you, you're the king!" I said, matter-of-factly.

Sans seemed startled by these words.

"Unless- Unless you're not?" I asked with confusion.

"I don't know it works in your universe, but here Asgore is the king. I'm just a sentry."

'Dad? The king? I guess with infinite universes the roles of people could change.' I thought to myself.

"I'm a sentry too. Though I didn't really care about capturing humans until the last-" What was I saying? Timelines would make no sense to him. Or so I thought.

"Timeline? I know about them too. Was it a Genocide?" He asked. The lizard woman next to him looked to be completely befuddled as to what we were talking about.

"Yeah. It was a Genocide run." Looking at his knowledge of timelines and his outfit, I figured he must take my role in this universe. "A softlocked one. I managed to break the brats determination, but that left me all alone, with no hope of a reset. The last person in the underground. The only way out was to go to another universe."

I sighed. "But with all these people in the lab, I assume I went from one genocide run to another. That dirty brother killer is probably at it in all universes."

Sans' POV

"You lost your bro too?" I said, empathizing with the human.

"Yeah, his name was Rei." They slowly took a rainbow scarf out of their pocket. I could tell they were holding back tears.

I took out Paps' scarf, also trying not to cry.

Alphys interjected. "Hold on! A-are y-you... Chara Dreemur!?"

SS!Chara's POV

"Yeah, so?" I asked.

"In o-our univ-verse you-you're dead!"

Well, I wasn't dead in my universe, as far as I knew, I joked.

The lizard hushed down.

"Sans, where's the human right now?" I demanded.

"About to fight the star of the underground, Mettaton."

I flinched at the name. Mettaton was the star of the underground in this world and not the demon? Then who was Undyne?

"You going to the Judgement Hall?"

A nod.

"Whaddya say we give the brat one #!¥< of a Bad time?" (Censorship by Fresh!Sans.)

Sans grinned, his eyesockets pitch black. "sounds like a plan."
