Chapter 42

Third person's point of view

As shoto walked through the hallway, he went into a corner to see his father. He stopped in his tracks as his heart filled with hatred.

"You're in my way." He said as the number two hero faced him.

"You're acting disgracefully, shoto" Endeavour said but shoto ignored him and walked past him.

"If you used the power in your left side, you would've had an overwhelming victory in the obstacle curse and cavalry battle...."He said trying to get a response out of shoto.

"Stop this childish rebellion already. You have a duty to surpass All Might. Do you understand? You are different from your siblings, you are the greatest masterpiece!" He said but once again he was ignored.

"Is that all you can say, bastard?" Shoto finally said as he clenched his fist while walking.

"I will win and advance with just my Mom's power. I won't use your power when I fight." He said and let his head hang low.

"Even if that works for now, you'll soon reach the limits of that power." Endeavour said as he finally walked away.

Kuro's point of view

I caught up with midoriya along the way back to the stands, we talked a bit and he's really fun to be around. Plus he's cute when he's flustered, not in a romantic way

Apparently his mother doesn't know about his quirk, she just thought he was a late bloomer and just thinking about it. She must be very happy to see her son to achieve his dream, to see when everything was broken All Might suddenly came around and helped him.

All Might really is the best hero in the world, though how long can he keep up with it?

I was cut off from my train of thought when we finally entered the stands as cheers were now more louder, I took my seat next to kirishima as the battle between sero and shoto began.

"Thank you for waiting! Next up is... these guys!" Mic said and both sero and shoto came out.

"He's good! He's good! But what's with that plainness he just can't get rid of? From the hero course, it's Hanta Sero!" Mic announced and I sweat dropped. It seems more like an insult than a compliment though.

"Versus! Taking third then second in the prelims! You're way too strong kid! He wasn't recommended for admission for nothing! Also from the hero course, It's Shoto Todoroki!" He once again announced and I couldn't help but smile wildly and feel excitement.

But something felt off for some reason. When I looked at shoto, he seems to be angered by something. He wasn't looking anywhere but the ground, did something happened?

"And now, for the second match of the finals! Ready... Start!" And with that sero suddenly released tape onto to shoto and he was immobilized, I couldn't help but grip the seat as I saw shoto did nothing but stand there.

Sero cut off the other tape and swung shoto to the side nearing the out of bounds line.

"A surprise attack aimed to push his opponent out of bounds! Don't you think that was the best choice for this situation!? Seriously, get him, sero!" Mic yelled and I couldn't help but bit my lips in anticipation for shoto to do something about this.

When suddenly shoto looked up and stepped on the ground as ice started to make their way to sero as it made a huge iceberg and it made the whole place shake. The ice was about to touch my nose for only centimeters but it didn't faze me.

I felt a weight of sadness wash over me when I saw shoto's face earlier, I didn't know why but I just did. I didn't know what was happening because the ice blocked my view of the battle so I can only assume that shoto won.
