Kaito was just strolling around Beika District with Aoko and Saguru on a very random day. It wasn't anything special, no. They had just finished their final exams and wanted to let their mind free from the cooped up stress building inside their souls.

The blonde detective had solved a murder on the day before and was out to send his reports (paperwork was a pain to do) to the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department : Division 1 team. He was still a detective after all, homicide or theft both, even though he was in Division 2.

Because that Aoko and Kaito were also going out to relax on the same day Saguru was planning to go to Beika, they had thought they should at least accompany Saguru.

"Ah, thank you for your reports, Hakuba-kun!" Megure said in gratitude when they arrived there, bowing his head down just slightly. "You and Kudo-kun would make a very good team. Along with Hattori-kun, of course," he chuckled.

"It's not a problem, Megure keibu. I'm glad I could help. Hattori-kun and I still have a long way to go but Kudo-kun? I think we'll do great," Saguru said with a polite smile. "We'll take our leave now, keibu."

"Alright. Send regards to Nakamori keibu for me. Be safe on your way home!"

"We will!"

And so off they go again, spending their time strolling and watching the scenery around them with interest. They didn't talk much though, just wanting to cool down from the stress of their final exams.

They walked along a very long road near a lake, (the one where Shinichi and Ran walked through on their way home and heard someone singing in Detective Conan : The Score of Fear movie) watching as the sun went down breathtakingly.

The sky painted itself in bright orange yellow colour, hinted with a bit of red and perhaps pink as well.

They stood there, watching the sun slowly goes down to the horizon with an easy smile on their face. The gentle wind were blowing, ruffling their hair but neither of them minded.

"It's beautiful here. Aoko likes it very much," she said softly.

"It is, isn't it? It's wonderful to think how nature always manage to make us constantly in awe of their beauty," Saguru said, not taking his eyes from the scene.

Kaito just smiled at his two close friends. Despite having a rocky beginning, he and Saguru had managed to find a common ground where they thread a careful friendship. With Aoko thrown in, both of the males were almost inseparable. Easy banter, childish pokes and commonly, very interesting, intelligent conversation.

The three had always had each others' backs no matter what and Kaito was immensely grateful to have such friends even though he would never admit it out loud. He was still a guy with pride after all-

"Hey, do you hear that? That sound," Aoko suddenly said, breaking out Kaito's trains of thoughts in an instant.

Intrigued, Kaito tried to listen what Aoko had heard as well.

"I heard that too.." Saguru trailed, looking at where the sound came from. "It sounded more like a.."

"Violin," Kaito supplied the closer he inspected and Saguru nodded, agreeing. "Exactly. A violin."

He couldn't resist himself as he walked towards the melodious sound, trying to pinpoint where it came from and those two followed behind him, very much curious as he was. He tried to figure out what the song was as the sound gets even louder.

Then, he saw it.

Bathing in the beautiful sunset was a person, sitting down on the grass near the edge of the lake, a male more likely, playing the violin with a hopeful tune.
