Kaishin Oneshots

+31 - Dove

Okay so I know that I said I finished this book already but I was suddenly struck with a few Kaishin ideas and I couldn't help but write it down. 😂

Kudo Shinichi, Mouri Ran and Suzuki Sonoko was walking around in Tokyo with the two girls talking about an aspiring magician spreading his wings in performing magic around Japan. Though, Sonoko insisted that no one can ever beat her Kaitou KID-sama ever.

Shinichi rolled his eyes silently, hands in his pockets as he eyed the people around him, analysing them just because he was bored out of his mind since he was being forced to go out by his childhood friends.

Ever since Conan happened, Ran and Shinichi thought that it was better to go on separate ways. The remnants of love they held for each other had turned into a sibling bond instead. Shinichi was surprisingly okay with it. He thought that maybe he would be upset or heartbroken but all he felt on their not-so break up was utter relief.

Deep in his thoughts, he didn't notice that they already arrived at the magic show nor a dove flying towards him and perched onto his head until he felt a sudden weight on it. He flinched in surprise and everyone stopped walking, staring at him and the dove on top of his head in surprise. Even Ran and Sonoko looked slightly shocked.

He slowly reached up and picked the dove that's nesting his hair from his head and held it to his chest gently. This bird looks.. familiar.. he thought. Well, all doves looked familiar to be honest but there's something about this dove that made him feel intrigued with it.

"Hey there, little one. Where did you came from, hm?" Shinichi held it to his face and smiled gently when the dove nipped at his nose. You reminded me of KID's dove actually.

"Tama-chan!" a voice called from Shinichi's right side, getting nearer and nearer. The cowlick haired male looked at the speaker and inhaled sharply. A male around his age in black suit, brown hair messy on top of his head and lean figure that Shinichi thought he got from doing acrobats.

Huh.. Kaitou KID.. he said in his mind when the male stopped in front of him. The male straightened up and smiled apologetically. Maybe he was imagining it but he was sure that the male's eyes flashed in shock before masking it perfectly. "I'm so sorry. My bird suddenly got away from me and I searched everywhere for her."

Shinichi handed the dove, Tama-chan, back silently, blue eyes calculating as the unknown person scolded the dove as if she could understand him. He blinked and smiled slightly. "Apart from your nightly activities, you're a magician at day," he stated, not questioning.

The international thief stared at him as if he didn't know what Shinichi was talking about before sighing. "Nothing gets passed you, isn't it, Meitantei? What will you do now that you know about it? Arrest me?" Shinichi was surprised at the bitter tone in KID's voice before shaking his head, eyes glinting.

"That's Conan's job though. My job doesn't have anything to do with thieves. I'm a homicide detective. I'm not interested in catching thieves," Shinichi admitted with a secretive smile. The dove sat on the male's shoulder with ease as KID stared at him as if in disbelief.

Then, the magician laughed brightly, genuinely happy and perhaps even surprised. "You sure are one of a kind, Meitantei. You continue to surprise me," he said and bowed slightly. "My name is Kuroba Kaito, aspiring magician. Nice to meet you."

Kaito held out his hand and Shinichi reached out to grab it firmly. "Kudo Shinichi, detective and police investigator. Nice to meet you too, Kuroba-kun."

Kaito smiled at him joyously before checking his watch and straightened his back. "I have to go and prepare myself. I hope you'll be enjoying the show, Kudo-kun. Will you tell me all your deductions when my show is over?" he asked and Shinichi shook his head with a grin. "I think I'll just sit back and watch your magic."
