8 (Pt. 1)

Soobin walked to his class and stopped right before the door. 'Should I try to sneak in? Or should I just come up with a reason?' Soobin just shook his head violently and slapped himself on the cheeks with both his hands.

He knocked on the door lightly and proceeded to open it slightly, creating a small crack for Soobin to look from. Apparently the teacher didn't notice of his presence because she was still busy with her teaching. He scanned the class before his eyes landed on Kai, a really grumpy Kai.

Kai notices the faint knock and the door opening and turns his head to look who it was, so did almost everyone at the class. To no surprise, of course it was Soobin. He went back to his grumpy look and distracted himself by taking out a notebook from his bag and put it on his table. He grabbed his pencil case right after and opened the book. He looked up at the whiteboard where the teacher was writing on it with a clearly pissed face. He didn't know exactly why he was mad at Yeonjun. He started to think. 'Jealousy? No' He shook his head violently, not believing in what his mind thought.

Soobin sighed when he saw what Kai was doing. 'What's wrong with him today?'. As Soobin walked closer to the teacher, Kai just decided to look back down on his notebook and pretend to look busy.

"And the painting- Oh, good morning Soobin." The teacher said as she paused in the middle of her lesson, noticing Soobin's late arrival to her class. She stops writing on the whiteboard and went to her desk before pulling out a slip of paper and handing it to Soobin. "Since you're late, grab some art supplies from the art storage room, will you?" Soobin grabbed the piece of paper and saw that it was a list of the art supplies needed. "Sure... But... I don't know where it is..." He said the last part a bit quieter, a tad bit embarrassed. The teacher then sat on the edge of her desk.

"Oh! Right! I forgot you're new... Well then, Tzuyu can take yo-" Soobin cuts her off. "Uhm... Can I go with Kai, Ms. Irene?" Kai was so surprised by this that he practically choked on nothing while still trying to focus on his book.

"Why is that?" Ms. Irene asks Soobin back, tilting her head and acting all cute. She isn't that old too though so the little act suited her.

"I just. Nothing personal Tzuyu..." He looks towards Tzuyu who was just sitting on her seat, doing the same confused head tilt like Ms. Irene did earlier. He turned his focus back onto Ms. Irene who's head was back straight before continuing his sentence. "...It's just I don't feel comfortable going to a small area with a girl and having her helping me carry— from what I think —are heavy items..." Soobin said and gave a little smile at her.

Kai was in disbelief. Kai- even though he doesn't know Soobin quite well and assuming from what he's known from the boy- knows that the older is doing this solely to talk to Kai and get some alone time with him. He turned his body towards Ms. Irene and Soobin who were still talking. He was about to raise his hand to refuse the request before his hand suddenly stopped raising. He then went stiff, stopping every movement from his body at that moment.

'Does he? Does he want alone time with me? Does he even like me? I'm going too over my head. I'm not even sure why I got mad at Yeonjun earlier. Was it actually jealousy? Jealous because they interact better than Soobin and I do? Jealous because they've been with each other since they're young? But, does it even matter if he doesn't like me back? Does he even take interest in men in the first place?"

"Kai, anything you wanted to ask, sweetie?" Ms. Irene called out to him, seeing his half raised hand. Kai snapped back from his blank gaze but his body still wouldn't move, even his hand didn't want to go down. He was about to talk but words just won't form. Nothing came out...

"Are you okay, dear?" Ms. Irene then got off from her desk and started walking to Kai's table, a worried look on her face.

"Yeah! I'm fine..." He says assuringly. At that time, his body started to loosen up. He dropped his hand and sat still before taking a deep breath and exhaling it really loud. Kai then stands from his chair and looks at Soobin directly in the eye. Soobin just has his puppy dog eyes and a cute pout to try and convince Kai to come with him, but Kai already made up his mind...

Kai tilts his head slightly to the side and smiles back at Soobin, Soobin's face turns into a visible red and he becomes a little bit embarrassed as he covered his face with both his hands. Kai giggles at the older's actions before stopping and talking. "Okay! Let's go!".

As Kai started walking, Ms. Irene called for him. "Oh! Kai and can I speak to you later after class? It's about a project I have for you..."

"Alright..." Kai answered before starting to walk again

Kai walks past Soobin, opens the door, and leaves the class, leaving the door to close by itself by the door stopper. He waited outside of the class for Soobin near the door's edge. He waited for Soobin to finish talking to Ms. Irene because she forgot a few things on the list they needed for today.

It took about 2 minutes before he came out of the class in a hurry as he ran past Kai and stops before turning and shooting his head to turn all directions in a really fast pace. He looked really worried as he shoots his head right and left. Kai got confused at what the older was doing, but he found it funny too. He started to giggle softly as he couldn't contain himself. Soobin stopped turning and looked at where the giggle was coming from.

Soobin's face calmed and he sighed when he saw the younger. He walked to him and put his left hand on the younger's head then ruffling his hair. "C'mon... show me the way, flower..." Kai stiffened and he suddenly stopped his giggling.

'What did he call me?'

"W-what?" Kai stuttered, not sure if his hallucinations has caused this or he just misheard it.

"I said show me the way, flower..." Kai's heart started beating fast and hard, face becoming flushed with red, and mind becoming mixed up and he can't think straight (A/N — 😏😏😏).

"T-to w-where again?" Kai hesitantly asked the older as his mind can't even remember that.

Soobin just smiles back before taking his left hand away only to pinch the younger's cheeks. "The art storage room..." Soobin reminds the younger while squishing his cheek and talking in a cheeky way.

"Ow! Ow! Okay! Let's go..." Kai slaps Soobin's hand away and starts walking in the hallway at the direction to the art storage room. Soobin just stood there blankly, Kai never did that to him before anyways. He continued standing there before shaking his head and caught up with the younger and slowed down. He stopped behind him as he started to walk at a normal pace.

'Is he still mad? What is he even mad about anyways...?'

"Hey..." Kai called out as he suddenly stopped walking and turned around, towards Soobin. Soobin however wasn't prepared for the younger's sudden stop, which caused him to bump into Kai and making him stumble a few steps back, and Kai accidentally stumbles on the impact of the two. Kai started falling and everything to Kai seemed as if it was in slow motion.

Kai was prepared for the sudden contact with the concrete floor that was stained by shoe marks. He closed his eyes tightly and embraced himself, but it never came. Instead, he felt a pair of arms wrapped around his hips as the hands hugged him tightly.

"Sorry,,," Soobin says cutely. Kai has to admit, the older is cute but he's still mad at him. He just blushed slightly at this before speaking up.

"What for? It's not your fault..." Kai says back with a slight smile forming on his face.

"For everything I did to make you mad today... I can tell it was me..." Soobin says as he turns Kai around to face him. Their faces are now inches away. Kai just wants someone to shoot him now. Soobin looks so ethereal up close.

"Here, I'll make it up to you" Soobin cups Kai's face with both his hands and closed the gap between them.

They kissed.
