11 (Pt. 1)

It' now Tuesday. 3 days after the party and the huge sleep over happened.

Kai was now on his way back from school, the time now being 16.15 PM. Kai was planning on taking longer than usual to get to his place... He decided to take a detour —since he practically had no homework or projects that was dued this week— and was wandering around the area near school and even went as far as to where he can see the park Soobin and Kai ate ice cream together.

Together.

He smiled to himself at seeing the park before he decided it was time to go home and just—

"Wait—" he mumbled to himself before he stopped himself in his tracks and running to a certain intersection.

—FLASHBACK—
//earlier this morning//

"Binnie... I need to give you a present... It's been 2 weeks since we met and I need to give something for our friendship..." Kai said over the phone before leaving school. He put Soobin on speaker so he could call him whilst putting on his shoes and put the phone beside him on the couch.

"You know 2 weeks isn't really that important right? Maybe if it's a month then sure that'll be normal but not 2 weeks!" Soobin told Kai in a slight scolding manner.

"I did this to Beomgyu and Taehyun too... c'mon please...?" Kai dropped on the floor and clapped his hands together, kneeling right after.

"What was that!?" Soobin said worried and surprised at the sudden sound of a couple of loud bangs coming from the other side of the phone.

"Me begging for you to let me...?" Kai answered unsure and giggled at the end.

"Well, if you insist... I really want this poetry book that I found online titled 'Poems For the Future Me' and it's really rare to find... So if you can give me that then I'll treat you to free coffee and snacks for a few weeks at the coffee shop. How 'bout that?" When Soobin was talking Kai, got up from kneeling down and went to the door. "Got it. Challenge accepted." He opened the door and left.

He knew exactly where to get that book.

—END OF FLASHBACK—

Kai stopped at the front of a familiar looking book store. Memories flashed back to the traumatizing moments. He heard a loud car's honk and caused him to snap out of it— stopping the tears that were forming. He wiped his eyes with his sleeve and took a deep breath.

"You can do this, it's not like anyone's gonna try the same shiz with you again anyways... the chances are very unlikely. It's just that you were unlucky. Calm down and do this for Soobin."

And with that, he released his breath before walking into the store.
