After Kai went into the book store, he went straight to the poetry section where he found it the last time, the hallway. After he got to the room with the tall shelves he immediately went looking for it.
"I could've sworn I saw it it here yesterday..." He mumbled to himself as he went around, searching the entire room of tall book shelves.
When he crouched down to see the books on the bottom shelves, he found it. "Ahh... free coffee here I come..." he grabbed 2 of the books because he wanted to read one for himself. The book seemed interesting.
There was one that was a beige color that looked like creamed coffee and one that was dark brown that looked like plain dark coffee. He decided he'll take the dark brown color for himself and the beige one he'll give to Soobin. When he grabbed the books out of the shelves, he noticed that there's no more behind it, meaning those were the last ones.
"Whew— Perfect." Kai said to himself as he got up. He calmly walked back to the counter to pay for the two books.
The counter was empty and he didn't have to wait in line, which was good since it was now 16.45 PM and he wanted to spend some time with his 'free coffees' that he was going to get before Soobin's shift ends.
Kai went up to the counter and put the two books on top of each other. "I'll take these two please."
Th cashier girl then started the usual checkout process. Scanning the two items and typing things on the computer. "The two books in total are 17,000₩ but for this week, if a customer buys 2 books, it's on a 30% discount. And that'll be 11.900₩. Anything else?" the cashier girl says.
Kai's eyes widened at the price. '8500₩ EACH!?' The books were definitely on the pricey side. He grabbed out his wallet and grabbed out 12,000₩ and handed it to the cashier. She then gave the change and placed the payed books and the printed receipt in a cute paper bag. He thanked her and went out of the store. He stopped in front of the store and took out the dark brown book and to pit it in his schoolbag as he decided to keep it for himself earlier.
When he finished putting the book in his bag, he continued the walk to the King's Crown Coffee Shop and he was smiling widely the entire way there. He practically even skipped a few times because he was too happy. The paper bag swaying in his right hand.
Right as he sees the coffee shop in his visions, he smiled even wider as it if were possible. He stopped and took his phone out of his pocket and checked the time on his lock screen. 17.05 PM. He had 55 Minutes before Soobin's shift ends...
He slightly jogged on to the coffee shop and stopped right in front of it to fix his hair before he took a deep breath, smiled, and stepped right inside.
"Good afternoon... Welcome to— Oh Kai!" The worker exclaimed as he straightened up after bowing
"Yeonjun, you know you could see me coming from the glass door, right?" Kai said, uninterested in Yeonjun right now and sounded almost monotone. His face flat as a pancake on a lazy morning.
