14 (Pt. 1)

"Mmmmh... Mine ish shtill better" Kai said, his mouth full of ice cream.

"No it isn't! The Rainbow Burst is the best. Period." Soobin defended the ice cream in his hands. "Let me try yours."

"Go ahead. I wanna see me prove you wrong. Choconilla Mix is the best." Kai said as he handed Soobin his cup of ice cream.

Currently, they're at one of their supposed 'date' locations. Starry Night Icecream Van. They got the exact same thing as they did on Kai's first time there.

They're now in a small friendly debate on who's ice cream tastes better on a table that was near the truck. Apparently, the owner raised enough money from selling the ice creams, she added a few small benches, tables, and even lamp posts. All of them collectively, their designs and placement, gave the area more of an aesthetically pleases vibe.

"Your ice cream is inferior to mine! Mwahahahaha" Soobin acted in a cute way, hoping to get some laughs from the younger... and he succeeded.

"I just uwu-ed all over my ice cream." Kai said after his giggling ended, but a smile still resided in his face.

It was pretty quiet, maybe because it was only them along with another couple there.

Kai was sitting across from Soobin and there is a round small table in between. From his perspective, he could see the couple and their activities.

He made very subtle glances at the couple and what they were doing. A girl, sitting across from- what Kai assumed to be- her boyfriend, on a small round table, similar to the ones Kai and Soobin were occuoying. It all started with a chat and small giggling, which Kai deemed unworthy (yes, unworthy) of his time and just focused back on Soobin.

A few minutes pass by, and Kai sees some movement in his peripherals, more precisely, it was coming from the couple's table. Kai decided to glance at the couple.

"So, what has it been like at school besides at the classes we're both in?" Soobin suddenly brought up as he licks his ice cream again.

Kai snapped his focus and tried to figure out what Soobin just said. He started to think what it could've been.

'Oh shit. I'm taking too long to answer' Kai thought to himself.

"Uhm...? no...?" Kai hesitantly answered.

just. silence.

"MOOD!" Soobin answers as if Kai's answer made sense. "Like, I don't want to put up with school anymore, I swear to god..." Soobin continued talking.

Kai just sighs in relief that he could at least answer in the right context, maybe. He then decided to get curious again and start glancing at the couple's table.

He saw the girl licking her boyfriend's ice cream and then gave a warm and cute smile. Don't get it wrong, he was just sort of, wanting to do those things with-

"Kai?" Soobin waved a hand in front of Kai's face. "You were zoning out." Soobin pouts, looking worried for the younger in front of him.

Kai turned to look at Soobin and change his focus... bad decision.

He saw Soobin's pout and he can't explain how cute he looked in that moment. Like, seriously, god made him so unfairly. How can he be hot and cute at the same time. (A/N- a little bit of me was put into this paragraph)

"Oh. oh nothing. It's juuuust..." Kai dragged his sentence as he tries to come up with an excuse to not sound like a creep.

"L-Look at the time... It's almost 3. L-Let's go to the coffee shop and then dinner at my place." Kai said, standing up and preparing to leave.

"Can we take a little detour after the coffee shop?" Soobin asked, standing up too.

"I mean, sure. we have plenty of time before 8." Kai answered back, ready to leave.

"Okay. Let's go." Soobin unexpextedly grabbed Kai's hands and started walking. Both ice creams still unfinished.
