The next morning

Kai woke up, opening his eyes slowly, not prepared for the Tuesday sunlight that hit his face eyes coming straight from the window. His vision was slightly blurry from waking up but getting clearer. He then closed his eyes again before... he felt the missing arm that was hugging him close last night. 'Soobin!' He opened his eyes widely as he shouted at himself as he remembered that he was sleeping over last night. On his bed!

He turned to look behind him and saw no Soobin. As Kai's vision got a little bit more clearer, he saw a white sticky note with a message on it. The sticky note was a pastel-colored purple. Kai smiled at it and sat down on the bed. He took the sticky note off the bed and read it.

"Hi! I'm sorry if I scared you when you wake up without me on your bed...
I just wanted to let you know that I usually leave to school really early...
And plus I wanted to meet up with Yeonjun there first before school starts to give him a tour...
I'll see you at school"

He smiled at the note Soobin wrote for him. He read the note over and over again. His smile was soon gone as he read through the note. He was mad. Mad at the mention of Soobin's 'childhood friend'. 'I'm gonna see this 'Yeonjun' today... then I'll be the judge if he is actually just a childhood friend...'

He then looked at the bedside table to check on what time it was. He then widened his eyes when he realized that he has 20 minutes to get to school before it starts. 'Shit.'

He quickly got the blanket off of him and he ran straight to the bathroom. "Towel. Clothes." He mumbled to himself as he rushed back out of the bathroom, realizing he went inside the bathroom without bringing anything inside. He went into his clothing drawers and got his uniform and his towel out. He rushed back inside the bathroom and Kai soon took a quick shower.

He got out of the bathroom, already wearing his uniform and his hair all dried up but not combed. He didn't really care if his hair looked terrible so he just combed it with his hands before going to the clothing drawers and grabbed a pair of socks. He went to the living room, bringing his bag outside with him. He sat on the couch to put his socks on. He slid on a pair of Star Wars socks on both of his feet. When he was done, he went inside his room again to get his phone and money then shoved both into separate pockets on his pants. He also looked at the bedside table, checking the time. 10 more minutes.

He went back out to the living room and he grabbed his bag before rushes out of the apartment. He runs towards the elevator and waits for it to get to his floor. Thankfully, the elevator was quick to arrive on his floor and Kai immediately jumps in. He presses the 'GF' (Ground Floor) before leaning back on the back of the elevator's wall. He sighed deeply when the elevator suddenly opens at the Ground Floor.

Kai runs out of the elevator and goes straight towards his school. He got lucky almost every time because the crossing lights kept being green so he just ran past all of them. One problem, he almost got there when suddenly, one of the crossing lights turned red. 'Fuck.' He curses under his breath.

He was waiting at the crossing light with a few other strangers around him. But, he noticed one person. A student, wearing the same uniform as him. All Kai can see was the silver hair the kid had. Kai then scoots closer to the student and lightly tapped him on the shoulder.

"Hey! Trying to get to school too?" He jumped back a bit before turning in Kai's direction and sighed when he saw that he was wearing the same uniform as him and guessed he attended the same school. Yeonjun swore he's seen the boy before, but he doesn't know from where. He then realized he wasn't responding to the other kid for too long. "Y-Yeah! I made the mistake of waking up late... Now my friend's gonna kill me!" Kai laughed at his response when the light turns green. "Well, since we're going to the same place, wanna race there?" Kai proposed a challenge and he smiled smugly. "Okay! You're on! Loser gets to buy the other lunch later..." The other said. "Deal!"

"3, 2, 1, Go!" The student shouted before he started running as if he was the flash. Kai can't believe his eyes. The kid was running at an insane speed. Kai was determined, even though he knew he already lost, he was determined to try. He ran quicker until he reached the front of the school where the kid was already waiting for him there. "Remember! Bacon Burger for me!" The kid smiles cheekily. "Ugh. A deal is a deal I guess..."

The kid continued talking to Kai about his friend that he mentioned earlier as they walked inside. Thankfully, none of the classes has started yet, hey had 2 minutes before they had to go. "Oh my god, we made it!" The kid raised his hand, asking for a high five. Kai smiled at him and gave him his high five.

"Yeonjun!" Soobin's voice rang through the hallway, the hallway that's surprisingly still full of students. Then the kid turns his head towards his voice. Then out of the crowd of students, out comes Soobin, jogging towards the two.

"Late as usual." Kai's mouth dropped. This was Yeonjun?

"Oh, Kai! Morning! I see you've met my childhood friend that I was telling you about yesterday... Kai, this is Yeonjun, and Yeonjun, this is Kai." Soobin introduces them to each other.

"Oh hi Kai! Now I remember you! Nice to finally meet yo-" Yeonjun gets cut off by the school bell. All the other students started to say goodbye to their friends and left for their classes.

Kai storms of into the hallway, bumping into Soobin's arm with his shoulder on the way. Kai, finding his way to his class, clearly pissed. He swung the door to his class open really wide and slammed it behind him. Soobin and Yeonjun was left to just stare at him, confused. They both turned to look at each other, confusion smeared across their faces.

"Wha- Did I do anything wrong? Is it because I beat him-" Yeonjun gets cut off by Soobin who held both his arms in a tight grip and looked at Yeonjun dead in the eyes. "You beat him!?" Soobin half yelled. His face contorted from a confused look to an angered one.

"You didn't let me finish, you idiot. I was about to say I beat him at running... We decided to have a race to school this morning when we met at the crossing light right before the school..." Yeonjun explained to the younger. "Anyways, talk to you after class, don't wanna have a bad first impression from the teachers..." Yeonjun then walked past Soobin to try to get to his class. Then realization hit him. He turned around and walked back to Soobin who was trying to get to his class. "Hey... Do you know where art class is?" Soobin just looked at him and started to giggle.

"Yeah... Turn left at the end of this hallway and it should be the first class on your right..."

"What do you mean should be?" Yeonjun lifted one of his eyebrows at his friend. "I usually let Kai lead the way to classes while I admire him from up close." Soobin explains while a smile started to appear on his face, with no worry in the world who might listen.

"Ew. That kid's still too young you know..." Yeonjun makes a disgusted face

"No! We're only one year apart!" Soobin defensively says aloud. Too loud.

"Shut up! You're too loud! Anyways we're here. Get to your own class, perv..." Yeonjun opens the door to the class and enters. He turns around to give a little wave at Soobin before closing the door again.

Soobin then turned around and started walking to his class with Kai, a frown shown visibly on his face.
